We don't look any more convincing than last season.

Dippers, Arsenal, Chavs, Spuds etc. It's early days yet but all of those will be difficult to finish above. It took Klopp a while to get things going. We may have to be patient.

This should be called the knee jerk forum.

It's quite a strange period, I'll give you that. It's as if Blues were expecting a 3-1/10-0 victory every week, not taking into account that there was a greater chance of us hitting the rocks due to the change of tempo. Something the majority said the Dippers woukd do under Klopp at the Dippers last season.

We are doing well if you just looked at the points alone but because we set off at such an amazing pace, expectations were raised even higher, the euphoria took over.

Klopp and Pochetino have now had time to adapt their players while Conte always had the players but just needed to get the system and confidence in it. Hell, I even expect Maureen to get it right sooner rather than later but again, it takes time and he even knows the league. Wenger is a top 4 specialist, of that there is no doubt.

The system that Pep is trying to evoke within the club won't come over night and he isn't accustomed to the league. Will it come good, can anybody be certain, but I'm sure we will eventually prevail in games like we played at the weekend. Pep will have greater awareness of the clubs in this country and will evolve his tactics accordingly whilst ensuringbthe controlled elegant style that has ebery other club wishing he was their manager.

Yes, we have been knee-jerk and doom mongering but it's just that, a point in time that can soon be forgotten and laughed at, looking back. It's just a matter of time though, and these abject performances will be relegated to history.

Have I been happy with the recent run of results, apart from Barca it has to be a 'No'. But am I happy with where I think we're going, well that's a resounding 'Aye' from me, as it's the bigger picture that I always look at.

Or am I a Happy Clapper?

I agree with you Beefy.

I would even go as far to say i am not expecting to win the PL this season and i am perfectly fine with that. I expect us to be in the mix, that goes without saying. I also think we are very capable of winning the title, but three other sides will also say the same. If we win it then brilliant and if we dont then so be it. As long as we learn for the following year, not unlike Klopp who is finding his feet well this season so far.

At the start of the season would anyone have been disappointed with third in the PL, just two points off the pace and sitting nicely in the toughest CL group (again)? I for one would have and am happy with that. Coupled with some of the best football we have seen for years i am very much pro Pep

I'm definitely not expecting to win it this season and am just looking for progression on last. My thoughts are, as a few have mentioned, Chelsea and Dippers are the main contenders due to their lack of CL, which also gives them a lack of funds and prestige, whichever way you look at it.

If I had to take a stab in the dark I'd say we are looking at 3rd or 4th dependant on our CL form, but if we are out of it early, really in contention. I'd even say that once this period us out if the way, as in qualifying from the groups, well have an upturn in form, even though we do play the fancied teams.

We maybe inconsistent at this moment in time but a concentrated effort is what we need, and we'll get that once the group stages are finished.

It's not even begun to take real shape at the top yet, long way to go.

That said I think Spurs, arsenal and Chelsea will be up there. I don't think Liverpool will stay the course, but with no cl you can't be too sure. I expect us to go very close as a minimum.

My main issue with us is our hunger to score. We've a few 4-0 games that could have been 6 or 7 but once we get two up we slow right down. Playing like that too often shows when we play a parked bus and get too comfy going sideways. A 2nd striker is needed sooner in these instances for my money. I don't like that Pep is also not making subs as early as I think he should sometimes too. We've got to get hunger to kill teams off and we will be fine.

It is a big ask now IMO because:

1. 27 games left with 33% of those Vs. the top 6 challengers(Liv, Chel, Ars, Spurs, MU, Eve)
2. Those 9 games include: home and away Vs. Liv, Chel and Ars
3. One run of 3 games is: Liv H, Ars A, Chel A
4. We are dropping points again'st the 'lower' teams, that is the killer, you have to win these
5. It is proven that mid-week CL football negatively impacts on a team's perfromance the following w/e in the PL

What do you think?

absolutely nothing to worry about
everything is tickityboo!

Nope. They have won it. Nothing to do about it now. We are a full 2 points behind top spot and it's already November. It's completely fucked. They fucked it. We still have to play Liverpool ffs, we will be lucky to stay up this year.

If we do manage to scrape ourselves from the relegation zone though we can rebuild in the summer I suppose. New manager and try again. We need a new owner with some balls and a real plan for the club too while we're at it. In fact I doubt we will ever win anything again now, EVERRRRRRRR. Not now liverpool are top of the league with a massive 2 point gap between us and them.

Anyone know how much tickets are for ice hockey games?

Do you think we'll be better in the second half of the season than the first?

If the answer is yes then we'll be okay.

We're battering teams just can't score and defensively were not solid come Jan I think we will strengthen the defence and at Xmas jesus arrives so we will be stronger!!

Just hope we're not placing too many hopes and too many high expectations on Jesus being the new, instant Messiah......or should that be Messi-ah ??

It would be quite understandable if the lad failed to settle in immediately and, accordingly, his impact wouldn't be an instantaneous effect.

In any event, IMHO, we need a minimum of four strikers to carry us through our crowded, congested season so we still have to buy in January as, ultimately, it's forward power that wins games.

Even if our defence doesn't improve, if we put away the huge amount of chances we're creating we'll win the league.

But that's obvious...

Isn't it?

A fucking boring stupid thread created due to INTL footy week with nothing real to converse about.

To even think about the league contenders and fixtures until after xmas is absolutely ridiculous.

Someone needs to punch this forum in the dick and get it moving.

It won't be me.

Were you in the karzi when Sergio missed his sitter v Boro then?

And again when Forster saved really well from Silva and Gundogan?
