I said at half-time that the the thing that Pep was beginning to understand is that at City he is not only playing the opposition, he also has to play the referee.

Digne there left back was the worse, must of fouled about 20 times including a pullback and swipe in the first few mins and didnt get a yellow, weird.

Mikhail Chigorin wrote:I don't think he'll be getting any more top games to referee in Europe.

UEFA will have been watching him closely tonight and he will have been under strict orders from them to ensure a Barca victory. He did his level best but failed badly in his mission, so this won't go down well with our beloved European Governing Body.

That's the last we will see of him, thankfully.

I wouldn't be so sure on that, Mikhail. He is probably nailed on for the final!!

nottsblue wrote:Really really poor referee tonight. Booking a Sterling was similar to the one Aguero got done go rag Southampton a few years back. Truly baffling. Busquets not to get yellow for persistent fouling another. Got a bit of luck with the third as the referee missed Aguero's handball. Had he seen it you can bet it would've been disallowed. But we deserved it.

This was certainly the best tie of the night, if not the week, so why wasn't the best referee appointed!

Busquets was booked in 72 min after committing about 15 fouls. the amount of stuff that he gets away with is unreal...very dirty player.

anyway fuck the lot of them we won!

Even for our Nyon friends in their putrefying pool of manipulation and deceit, the appointment of that one-sided Magyar cheat was pretty deft. Rarely do you see corruption so overt from the off. Blatant grab on Sterling running on to goal by Digne, nothing - followed by clear hack on him for a penalty and Sterling booked for a dive. And so it continued through the game - Judgement Day awaits those criminals.

Only thing he didn't give the was a pen from the Messi dive, mind you he didn't book him either makes you wonder what his thoughts were .

Long may it continue and long may we continue to be a thorn in UEFA's side.......either that, or a rusty nail driven into their corporate knee.

The issue is Barca - regardless of who they play.
Playing them is like playing MU when Fergie was in charge.

Barca always get preferential treatment.
The Chelsea Vs. Barca (1-1) game in 2009 was the worst I have ever seen.
He turned down 4 penalty appeals for Chelsea the home side.
Two of them were stonewall penalties.

Watch their next two games.
They will get preferential treatment and If they also need a helping hand they will get it.

Just like MU under Fergie - I am still waiting for an expose on his tenure.

Hope it comes sooner, rather than later and before 'Purple Nose' falls off his perch.

Obviously not nearly as bad as mid week...

Definitely not a "homer" performance

That decision where Sergio was fighting off foul after foul all the way to the penalty area then when he tried to tackle back the ref blew immediately... WTF

That had me astounded too mate.

Even the commentator was saying
"It's a case of where the ref is going to take it back to, aguero's been fouled three times there... oh, he's given it the other way"

It's been going on that long that I think we are actually used to it now and don't tend to complain too much. Done of the decisions are fucking scandalous and you have to wonder when the powers that be will let us play on the same field.
