Application, effort and workrate

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

Application, effort and workrate

Postby Original Dub » Wed Oct 26, 2016 7:49 pm

Exactly what it says on the tin. Nothing to do with quality/luck obviously...

I think sometimes it's easy to use the above after a loss or when things aren't going our way.

Saying that, there have been times this season when the above hasn't been of the standard it should be.

So I think we should measure it by the half of every game...

So far today the rags away in the efl. I have no complaints.

Thoughts?

Every half game is an unusual measure but sure.

Effort been good, not very clinical, but defensively worked their arse off and tried hard on the ball. Pleased with maffeo and Garcia and Fernando too actually.
Tracking back is overrated.

Not really when you consider games like southampton on sunday, or other games where we've switched off because of a half time lead.

Also, to state you feel happy with the first 45 with regard to this might add perspective at the end should something go against us.

Byw I agree, very poor on final pass and fluidity in the final third but that's for a different thread ;)

We started with really high intensity, but felt that we tired. I think it's down to giving away possession too easily and having to chase to get the ball back. Sane is a big culprit, but it really starts at the back. Kompany is no Stones and Willy no Bravo.

I don't believe there is any lack of effort. Every fan of every club has this as a default criticism when things go badly. Our problem is a lack of quality in depth and Hugjes like defensive set up.

Cheer up you weird bastard.

You have blamed workrate on every result lately.

You have been wrong quite a lot on this subject so maybe measuring it in a thread like this might educate you.

Not saying it will, you seem to have your own agenda, but at least you can prove your point if what you're saying is true.

Ps cheer up

It's always been like that and it's always the same couple of people.

End product would be a concern, we can keep the ball, make Pogba look average Twice. IMO We need the Dortmund lad to add that missing dimension to our game. Channels/Pace/Link. Kelechi is raw, Being at the game, and not trying to sound more of a twat, We managed to lose to their 1st team, if it was the other way around I would be worried.

I don't know who originally said it but I'd like to reiterate you're a moaning cunt.

Ah, the leader of the cheer up brigade.

Your posts are mind numbingly depressing and always have been.

Amazing how the most negative poster to ever grace this board makes his come back when a new challenger appears.

Negative people are cunts.

Says guy who started a topic about lack of workrate and "application" or whatever.

Talking about negative, remember your behaviour when your favourite Sparky was sacked and Mancini was appointed? Because you have uncanny ability to rewrite history I'm sure you claim to have been major Mancini from the get go but actually you were moaning all the time.

Besides, Pep is ace.

The name of the thread is Application, effort and workrate.

Surprise surprise the most negative poster ever on the board manages to turn it into a negative.

And by the time hughes was going I was excited about Mancini coming in.

I never "loved" mark hughes. I merely supported him while he was managing the club I love.

Same with Mancini, same with pellegrini, same with pep.

You're a right strange fruit. Like a black cloud descending on every thread.
