What does "Gundogan" actually do?

So since Pep has tried forcing Gundogan in to the team we don't look the same as we did the first few matches.

Not sure what Gundogan has done these last two-three matches to deserve starting, and I believe him being in the side messes up our balance and how quickly we break.

Put him on the bench for the good of the team!!!

Edit: WW topic title changed to reflect the boards approach to our midfield players :D

He's peps man. Pep is stubborn.

If you look at the team I suggested at the start of the match thread you'll see I didn't pick him.

I think what pep is doing is trying to get everyone match fit and premier league acclimatised.

Only then will he know what his best team is.

I think we have a quality player in gundogan but he had a serious injury and needs game time because he had no preseason at all.

So it may not be a case of him unbalancing the side, so much as not reaching his true level yet.

Remember silva at the beginning?

He definitely needs to improve but I think he will.

But giving him game time is hurting us mate. Game time is what the EDS is for. Not starting him when we need 3 points.

He's slowing us down and giving the ball away constantly.

Fern hasn't looked the same since he's had Gundogen beside him.

Then stick him in the PL2 side until he gets fit. I know they want to use that for the youth team, but the first team is not where players get match fitness. At the moment, Gundogan is more a hindrance than a help which isn't doing anyone any good

Gundogan has been poor the last 4 or 5 games , huge concern as his role is vital to peps tactics / system . Good point that we were much more fluent early season when he wasn't in the team . Real strange one for sure , me I would drop him !

I actually think Gundogen will come good once he's less rusty - but whether he and Fern can play together I don't know.

He needs to get up to speed with the team first, never mind the Premiership.

He is a quality player and suffered a pretty horrific injury which must be on his mind , the premiership is an unforgiving place for midfielders and I think he still needs more time to get used to it.

Pep will sort him.

Phew ! clutching at straws here, i think.

Two gifts st Spurs( Kola and Zabs),

Stones jumping in against Everton allowing the pass to get through ( and clichy not taking Lukaku out on the half way line)

Two penalty misses.

Ferdie's slip , Kev's bad pass, Stones's leaving the ball for the goalie,

The goalie bad pass and Red card.

Today, Stones's back pass.

Yeah , blame Gündogan for not being upto scratch yet.

Btw , haven't got to kün yet ....

He's had a very serious injury since then. It's impossible to say whether he will ever get back to that level.

So our whole play hasn't slowed down since he's been put in the team?

Like OD mentioned, the guys been out for so long now it will take him time to get up to speed. So that could be why he's slowing us down.

But we haven't looked the same since he's come in.

I don't think anyone has said the individual mistakes are his fault, unless I've missed that?

Slow? He showed a great turn of speed to have the Barca goalie pull off a great reaction save to stop us equalising 1-1.

This really is a knee jerk thread.

We were parked for the most part of todays game around the Soton area, especially in the second half

How was he slowing that down ?

Turn of speed?! He beat Pique who was already injured!! Pique literally just dropped to the floor. And then Gundogan had a shot and put it close to the keeper.

Do you like Gundogan more than I like Kolarov? Yes.

Yes sorry, is being parked around the Saints area obviously means that Gundogan isn't slowing us down. What was I thinking?
