He needs to start putting a shift in the little rat! Then maybe he wouldn't get dropped.

Very little from Saturday suggested he should start tonight. Needs to put the effort in or he'll go same way as Yaya

Thing I see with kun is this. He's generally an off the shoulder player, likes to be out through one on one. When's the last time you saw a through ball splitting the defence and kun running onto it?
We've lost something in our forward play the past 2 years and that isn't happening anymore. With silva and kev pulling players out of the position, there are a few chances a game where you sit and think "now, release it" and it never comes. Serge will make a few runs in a game, ball never goes to him like that and he ends up dropping deeper just to get hold of it.
He's deadly one on one. We need to find that incisive edge again.

I mooted the idea last year that I didn't think all was well with Kun and indeed suggested he could even have been sold in the summer if the right offer had come in and a replacement sourced. That didn't happen and he came back and already has scored eleven goals this year.
A surprise he didn't play tonight but maybe he's still feeling the effects of his travelling from the International break. Maybe he picked up a slight knock at the weekend or in training. Maybe Pep wants him to work harder when he doesn't have the ball, (indeed he alluded to that after a recent game that shocked the MotD pundits), and decided tonight's game was one where there could be no shirkers. Maybe him and Pep have had a disagreement and was benched as a punishment. Who knows? Might be none of these suggestions.
It wouldn't surprise me if he was sold next year but equally I can envisage him staying for a few more years yet. I do think he needs to tweak his game a little to adapt to Peps system but he is good enough to do that. The problem I think he had is that when he doesn't score he has the appearance of someone not giving their all, which is not true but that's the perception I sometimes have

I've wondered myself. Doesn't seem to fit despite his goal scoring record this season.
It's a difficult one.
He'd walk into most teams.

Aguero is not THE problem. And anyone sensible agrees with the rest of your post.
I don't think that's what the thread is about though.
I think Kun will need to adapt his game a bit for Pep. Doesn't mean he isn't one of the truly world class players we have.

This issue is he's been dropped for the biggest game of the season and his ratings in Argieland are through the floor - they say he's only being picked because he's Messi'a mate. Bad times.

As much as I would like to join those of you who think that this is a ridiculous thread, the fact that Pep dropped Kun for such a massive game sends out a big message. I never in a million years would have expected him to be on the bench tonight. Pep has shown a ruthless edge throughout his career with no room for sentimentality and a single mindedness that means selling fan favourites (see Joe Hart). Maybe Pep is punishing him for playing for Argentina despite carrying a knock, or maybe as bad as it sounds, he isn't a Pep player. Can't believe I've just posted this but tonight's evidence is quite damning
