MotM v Barca

Postby Beefymcfc » Wed Oct 19, 2016 8:41 pm

I don't think any of the defence will be getting a shout and I'm not even going to mention Pep ;-)

Atrocious.

We were the better side up to the sending off and 1 slip cost us. Without a great save by their keeper and a shocking miss by Stones we would be 2-1 up and flying. Then a huge double loss, going to 10 men, losing our shape and losing Zabaleta and his leadership too and game over. Sterling shone. Fernandinho should not be on the list at all. His slip cost us. He helped the second goal in too and was very lucky not to be sent off.

I thought we were the better side near enough all the way they made, it was the absence of a leader that fucked us up; made worse by the loss of Zab's.

My biggest issue was the course we sailed. I say sailed because we never changed our approach which comes down to risk management. That game, around the world, can be seen as worse than Celtic yet the game itself did not Warrant it

Give it to Willy. Nobody else was great.

I suppose Sterling had his moments.

Keep the knee jerk reactions coming. He's only played a handful of games for us. Kolarov I can agree with but Gundogan? Sober up mate

No but you could put most of our team along with him in that description, perhaps Sterling apart

In all fairness, he had a lengthy injury, he's under a new manager, in a new team, in a new country and in a different Footballing League to what he has previously known.

The team has also gone through a strange spell in the last four games or so. Given all that, at the very least, he deserves a bit more time.

Fair point pal . He looked different class first couple of games but now looks another Fernando .

Can't argue with your contention that he looks like another Fernando No 64, because he certainly does at the moment.

I suppose all we can do is hope, pray and keep our fingers crossed :?
