What a scary thought. One of the real world class players, playing for City, but we want him gone?

Scary shit man and I'm unsure where you are with our 'project'.

Zab playing against Barca is a horrible thought!

I read Aguero is going to play for Argentina again this week. We need him to come through that unscathed.

I wonder if Pep might consider playing with three centre-backs in this scenario, or even playing Clichy at right back ???

One thing is certain, with our current injury situation, Pep needs to burn the midnight oil to come upon a tactical formation which won't get overrun against Barca.

This whole thing about Sergio playing while injured/nearly injured makes me wonder what Guardiola makes of it all. I can't imagine he would be too happy about him risking injury for country given his fragile past. Our forward line isn't good enough to make such recklessness a good idea.

Does he have any say in it? Does he have a quiet word in his ear about knowing which side his bread is buttered? Does he plan for the next two months without Sergio? Does he start thinking about January?

Which players do we now need to bring in, in January ??

Are there any of our youngsters we can bring in now, or would that be the psychological 'ruin' of them ??

Pep has been quoted as saying that he isn't looking to sign any players in January. Wonder if our last 4 games will have changed his mind

Quality Right back and Left back and we have the second coming of Christ.

I wouldn't think so. Only the Spurs game did I feel like we were outplayed...

It's easy to watch a team from afar and list the type of players you would like for that team when you take over.
It's another thing entirely to see how the existing ones adapt to your system, whilst integrating the new signings at the same time.

I'm absolutely delighted with where we are, considering this is the beginning of something. Pep will have the whole season behind him for the next summer window and will simply be tweaking things in obvious areas.
And I wouldn't be surprised to see a whole new togetherness and professionalism that we've never seen before, when a reasonable amount of time has passed.

"Reasonable", most definitely, being the operative word.

I agree we need new fullbacks but would like to see Maffeo and Angelino get a decent run in the side before we splash £80m on the likes of Bellerin and Alaba

It's the Spaniards, Begiristain and to lesser extent Soriano, who do the signings. I'm sure they consult Pep but that's it. Pep has said himself that he considers himself more of a coach rather than traditional do-it-all amanger.

Absolutely.

Moreover, if they both came in now, they would have a reasonable time before the January window, to see if they could settle in and flourish in the Premier League.

If that were the case, it might turn out to be one of the smartest pieces of business the Club could have pulled off and, if either, or both, of them couldn't cut it sufficiently for a Pep side, at least we would then know and decide where to go from there.

Now that first half yesterday, that was like deja vu. That was the same type of lethargic shit we were seeing for most of last season. Hopefully they were torn a new arsehole for that and we don't see a repeat any time soon.

I have more faith in Pep being able to turn it around than I ever did in Pellers. The common denominator here is the players - this same bunch managed to win the league twice before looking like a shadow of their title winning sides in the subsequent seasons

It is a different team now.
NOW: Brown, Sterling, Gundongan, Nolito, Otter, Stones, Bravo, Sane, Nacho.......
THEN: A younger Zabba, a fit Kompany, Milner, Nasri, Negredo, Dzeko, a fantastic YaYa....

This new team+the new defence+new midfielder+Kun replacement, that will arrive next summer - will be proven to be better - much better

Well, the sense of deja vu is getting worse by the minute. Our defence is a shambles and our attack is toothless. We're on a horrible run of form and lose against Barca next week and we're in serious danger of dropping out of the CL already in the group stage.

I'm underwhelmed.

That said, I predicted a very rough ride this season. Completely changing the way the team plays takes time and Pep needs to learn the league and get to know his squad. I think we all need to be prepared for the worst: this season could be a write-off. However, we need to keep our faith in Pep. Look at Liverpool and Spurs. Klopp's first season at Candlepool was inconsistent at best, but now his ideas are coming to fruition. Pochettino's side was bang average for a couple of season before finally becoming a serious title candidate.
