I didn't see it as anything other than rustiness though.

Hope he's ok too. But I wouldn't put it that much down to rustiness because he's always looked for the ambitious balls that don't come off. Don't mean to be too harsh, it's just that he seemed right out of place from how we used to play last year, when the rest of the team has moved on to Pep's way of playing.

Well that's true he always did try those kind of balls.
I think it was FIBD who mentioned that he looked reluctant to receive the ball wide leaving the gap through the middle that a midfielder usually comes into.
I put his peformance more down to this lack of sharpness about himself and trust of himself in the system.
Defensively I thought he looked ok. He certainly found himself with a lot less panic defending to do than when he normally would come back from injury.(Last season)

The over stretch at the end was after we had made three substiyutions and maybe we had disrupted our flow a bit.

I hope it is nothing serious. I like Vinny and hope he can fit in with this team.
I do however think there may be some truth in Carl's way of thinking.

Some are saying that he should not have been left on the pitch that long. I can't help feeling that, that was quite calculated by Pep.
There could be an element of sink or swim. Prove you are of value to us now. Otherwise it may be time to say goodbye.

It would maybe explain Vinny's reaction, if he thought, well that's it I'm finished.

As our resident optimist(Phips) says though.....there's no point in speculating .

I wouldn't usually say this to people but, 'Why do people respond?'.

There is an old saying about sending people to Coventry and I now understand why it is done. It's not to alienate that person, or to belittle them in anyway, it is to leave them in the dark listening to their own thoughts, gradually forcing them to go even further, showing others how far they will really go to get some attention.

Keep feeding them oxygen and they will continue to burn. Kill the feed and they soon die out.

Now, where was I? Ah, that was it, a nice glass of Merlot. Enjoy your Friday night Blues ;-)
