Lawro and SKY Pundits Predictions v Rags (A)

Postby Wonderwall » Fri Sep 09, 2016 9:38 am

I think we all knew what the pundits would be saying after this weeks SKY RAGFEST, so no surprise to see us have no chance of a win from anyone!

Lawro's opponent for this week's Premier League fixtures is former WWE star and Hollywood actor Dave Bautista.

Along with Pierce Brosnan, Bautista is the star of Final Score, an action movie being filmed at Upton Park, but the American admits he does not know much about West Ham, who left the stadium after 112 years at the end of last season.

He told BBC Sport: "The first day we started filming, we did a scene where we were walking through the crowd and they were singing about bubbles.

"I could not understand how that related to football so I had to ask, and I think it has made it into one of the edits."

Lawro says

Sergio Aguero's suspension is a big loss to Manchester City, whose only specialist back-up striker is Kelechi Iheanacho. He is very promising, but still very young.

It is strange that one of the world's wealthiest clubs allowed Wilfried Bony to join Stoke on loan on deadline day without replacing him, which reduced their options further.

At the start of the season I wondered what would happen if Aguero does not play, and we are about to find out.

Looking at the game, the biggest difference between the two teams is that Manchester United can change things around with their strikers if they have to.

Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial both have pace to burn through the middle if it is not working for Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

Because of that, I am going to go for United win. I don't think City will be able to hold out for 90 minutes.

Lawro's prediction: 1-0

Dave's prediction: I have personal reasons for going with United here - I have a lot of friends who support them, and also because Noel Gallagher gave me major harassment when I did Soccer AM with him - and he is a huge City fan. So I am picking against his team, and I think they are going to get crushed. 5-0

Merson and the Sky Pundits say:

Charlie: If Sergio Aguero was available then I'd be going with City. David Silva seems to have his mojo back but the big question is whether they go with Kelechi Iheanacho or do they go with Raheem Sterling to lead the line?

I still think there's bigger questions over Manchester United, with Wayne Rooney having his issues, while Pep Guardiola has sent his message and is getting the response, which gives them an edge.

Charlie predicts: 1-1 (5/1 with Sky Bet)

Merse: Sergio Aguero is an absolutely massive miss for Man City. I know people say they have so much money and can afford to sign anyone, but he is one player they will struggle to replace. He is their best player by a million miles.

Merse predicts: 2-1 (11/1 with Sky Bet)

Thommo: Sergio Aguero is an absolutely huge miss for City and I think we'll see Zlatan Ibrahimovic relish the atmosphere and deliver. I would have gone for a draw if Aguero was available because you always expect him to score.

Thommo predicts: 2-1 (11/1 with Sky Bet)

Le Tiss: Aguero must still be considered the best Premier League striker so his absence is decisive for me. However, in terms of the title race, the result isn't going to be decisive as the losing side have so much time to recover.

Le Tiss predicts: 2-1 (11/1 with Sky Bet)

Strange how Lawro goes on about strikers then settled for 1-0.

In total, I suspect those predictions amount to one minutes' research and twenty seconds' thought.

We shouldn't expect too much, it's kind of the BBC to give the homeless old tramp a home really

You think we'll keep a clean sheet? I'll be amazed if either team does.
Balotelli......that's a brilliant finish.

All of these ' pundits' are nothing other than just mere parrots. They are all just copying what the other says, they have nearly all written us off, great stuff.

Too bad we don't have our predictions league this season. Had this one pegged as 2-1 us, 2-1 against West Ham, 3-1 against Stoke, and 2-1 against Sunderland.

They should bring some of us in as replacements. We seem to know more than the experts for some odd reason...

I might watch Match of the Day tonight to see what the 'experts' there have to say about our performance.

No doubt there'll be some grim faces and most of the football we played will be edited out to make it appear as though the Scum actually won.
