Sounds like a Hoddle saying. No wonder we all have a downer with international football when the fuckwits speak of an average pass with such superlatives.

So, Southgate picks Shrek as one of his strikers and then plays him in the middle? I take it we're here just to give him some confidence as he can't get a game for his team, or is it because the sponsors were not getting their monies worth.

No it was the other pratt. As for Wooney , finally found his level at the international level . drop dead average so far.

He's won the ball perfectly entitled to go for that. Football is dying on it's arse if that sort of challenge is given as a foul.
Im more than happy to make use of opportunities to have a pop at Rooney when they present themselves but that wasn't one of them.

Nope , but it is now getting dark so the lights need to go on.

Shocking defending as Sturridge gets a headed goal pretty much from the edge of the box

Shrek has been effective so far but when you are sat in the middle of the park with nobody hassling you then even I could look like an international.

Let's not forget, this is Malta, not Germany.

Like Nidge said, it was no different than Bravo's on Rooney. Neither of them were fouls.
No outcry over Rooney's though.

Don't be daft, this is England, not the Rags. If he did that for the Rags then he'd have been hung, drawn and quartered. Surely ;-)

Sturridge is the only one who will try and take on/dribble past a player.

Some lovely passing, England looking like a team and all we needed was to play a bunch of part timers.

Joe has been utterly faultless this half. Swing a few crosses in cos we win every single header.
