Isn't Serge looking at three game ban?
If so, the additional ban would be Swansea away in the league. The league cup is played just before the league game

And that's where I see the issue. You automatically think that this is a frivolous appeal when the reality is that he hasn't even faced the charge yet.

He isn't appealing, he's just not admitting the charge.

So is he looking at one game ban only no matter what the result? Or 1+1?

Don't you still get a three game ban for straight red? I'm confused help me out guys please

If found guilty he'll most likely get a three game ban.

If he appeals it then there's a chance he may get a further game for frivolous appeal however it seems the chances of that are minimal because the FA used to issue the further game ban as a result of players delaying the process through appeals so they can compete in the next fixture ( it was a measure introduced to dissuade players/clubs using that loophole ).

The procedure has been quickened up by the FA now so that any appeal will be dealt with before the next fixture so there hasn't been a need to issue an extra game ban for a few years now.

Well, it's either a 3 match ban or nothing. Seems a little strange but good to see we are contesting if only on a technicality.

The standard 3 game bans have been reduced to 2 on appeal also. So if we can put across a good argument it might be less than the 3 games, I don't expect a complete reversal but some reduction would be good.

Agreed. I'm hoping that they are basing the fight on that in the game it would only have been a yellow, not red. If they can argue that case, as Fellaini got when he tried to kill Zab's, then they can use precedence which may give some weight to the argument.

Maybe they're arguing provocation, which doesn't excuse him but might mean a reduction.

BBC reporting a three match ban.
No surprises there.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/37260489

Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero will miss Saturday's derby against Manchester United in the Premier League after being banned for three games.

A Football Association panel found Aguero, 28, guilty of violent conduct after he elbowed West Ham's Winston Reid in City's 3-1 Premier League win.

More to follow.

Of course, he was going to get a ban. Any other player would have done so too.

The problem for us, though, is that this retrospective stuff does us no favours, even if the violent conduct led to our player being subbed off.

Instead, Man United are the most obvious beneficiaries.

So the referee didn't see the incident during the match according to the FA statement when he was looking straight at it? I smell bullshit of the highest order.

The violent conduct didn't lead to Reid being subbed off according to Bilic.

No it was the sniper in the stands.
In fairness I thought Bilic was class in his interview afterwards.
Would have made a good character witness.

You need to listen to your own manager, fella. He said the substitution had nothing to do with the incident.

Glad we could turn you in to a City fan finally. I'm assuming you're talking about John Stones being taken off for the eye gauge and the stamp?

At the start of the season I said this would be my last year for a season ticket after 18 years straight. I was half hoping this season would change my mind.

But shit like this just makes me think I'm right. Can't be arsed with football anymore when it's just corrupt from the top down. What's the point wasting our money when they do shit like this. Just can't be bothered anymore.

The referee did not see the incident... but video evidence shows he was 5 yards away looking right at it.

I conclude that he is either...

a) incompetent and should never referee anything above Sunday League again

b) a lying cnut
