If It's not showing on tv/radio/in person, why even announce it? Now the clubs just teasing fans with a City game that they'll never get to see

I gather because fans are also likely concerned the team has not had enough friendlies, and Pep made that concern known, but to arrange broadcasting, etc. I gather is rather complicated on such short notice, and he would probably rather get a chance to try some things away from prying eyes.
