We are but he fits the system Pep is looking to build perfectly. A decent defender who's super comfortable on the ball with and bit of skill.

I'd expect Mangeler to be moved on as he is terrible on the ball.

£50m when he has said he wants to join us and with no other club in for him is a pants down dry bumming with no reach around

Glad someone else can see it.

Never sure what Txiki is supposed to do when the manager wants a player - just walk away every time they demand more than 20m?

They certainly don't need to sell

Zacklee. I'm super un-arsed.

Get the kid in and let's see what he does. If Pogba is 100m then who knows what a defender of similar age and potential could cost?

Cheers

Because they are trying to bring in one of the top targets the new manager wants or is Pep now part of the Spafia?

If Guardiola has sanctioned this purchase , then he is an idiot.

If our tactic is to have 70%+ possession then we don't need some super defender. We need someone who doesn't panic on the ball (launch it into row z), but can pick out the right midfielder/striker.

There's a whole lot less defending you have to do when you're CB's aren't giving the ball away every other possession. Hence why Pep has played Macherano and Javi Matrinez at CB.

Then add in that Stones is 22 and homegrown... sure we're getting fucked, but not Gonzalo "choke artist" Higuain for 75 million fucked. And Stones would probably be an upgrade on what we have so far.

Why is he an idiot if he sanctioned this purchase?

Pep knows the way he wants to play and the type of player who can deliver for him.
Presumably Pep sees Stones as a perfect fit (and young, English, etc...).
So you buy what fits and pay the going rate - Everton because of circumstances dictate the price.

If you don't you end up with players who cannot play the system you want to implement.
If you allow that to happen then you are an idiot.

Very, very disappointed if this happens. I know Peps supposed to be mint, but transfers so far have been underwhelming

The jury could be out on this one for a while.
Stones ticks a lot of boxes, whether he will ever fulfill the hype is another matter.
However there isn't actually a long list of centre backs out there to choose from and we NEED to strengthen there.

Because Stones is shit defender who makes tons of mistakes.
If you want someone who is good with the ball why not drop one of the midfielders there. £50m saved and our defence isn't any worse

Stones has potential and who better to help him fulfill that than Pep. I don't really care about the money as 50mill now is probably the equivalent to the 30mill United paid for their young English centre back Rio 17 years ago and it's not like we haven't got it.

My mate who is a big Everton fan thinks he has the potential to go all the way to the top and was held back by the manager last season who managed him terribly.

We have to it the home grown factor. Urgently.
I'd bin Otter with immediate effect to bring in Stones.
