Meanwhile, on Red Cafe...

Just in case you were all wondering what the rags are pondering on during the summer, here are some comments before our game tomorrow. Ive taken these from two threads on Red Cafe,so there is a bit of a mixture. As there is no football to talk about the bulk of the comments are from the thread about the local weather conditions, and the managers.

Enjoy :)

Maureens comment re this derby:

On Manchester Derby as a friendly: 'City against United for me is Old Trafford / Etihad or even cup final at Wembley It was a friendly before we knew the conditions, and now it's maybe more of a double-friendly.'

Team Selection

1st half:

Romero

TFM—Tuanzebe—Jones—Rojo

Carrick—Pereira

Januzaj—Rooney—Young

Rashford

2nd half:

De Gea (60mins->)

Valencia (75)—Smalling (60)—McNair (45)—Tuanzebe

Blind (45)—Pereira

Lingard (45)—Mkhitaryan (45)—Januzaj

Keane (60)

And the rest…

I actually hope this one is cancelled. You can't play rival teams like Manchester City and Liverpool in a friendly, it somehow takes the thrill out of it, especially now when it will be the first game between Mourinho and Guardiola at their new clubs…But at the same time, the most important thing at this point is to get 90 minutes of football in your legs, I guess.

Having watched the Dortmund game I'm not expecting too much against City, although I think there's a chance José will set up to win against Pep rather than just experiment and assess.

In before claims that Man City paid them off to avoid the real flood - of the sea of red shirts around the stadium.

Shame. Was expecting to see the look on Pep's face when he sees Utd fans outnumber city ones 10 to 1.

I think he was more bothered when he saw City being outnumbered 10 to 1 in talented football players on the pitch in Munich. This season will tell us a lot about Pep´s ability to make adjustments cause that shitty squad is not passing the opposition to death.

I don't know why people think pep would care. He obviously knows United is the bigger club. It wasn't the size of the club that made him go to city. It was the money that allow pep to do another Bayern job.

I'm sure his 10.01m per year contract will keep him sweet

Could save us a real battering if it's cancelled, so there's a bright side :P

They won't have everyone ready to play but they'll have a better side than the Dortmund reserves and under 18's w played in the second half today. They'll want to win and the majority of our squad players don't seem to have the stomach for a fight.

We both have ships on our crests. A naval battle it is!

Tradition that Cutemancs gives us a thread prior to every game keeping us informed of what the opposing fans are spouting off.

Fuck me, we can't even have a summer break without hearing nonsense from the rag cunts.

Not normally bothered about friendlies, but I expect that the competetive nature of the managers might want one of them to lay a marker down. Lets fucking fuck them up

If you get a red card in a friendly are you banned from any Prem matches?

I might be wrong, but I think you are banned from games sanctioned by that FA/regional body only so shouldn't be a problem if someone snaps that fat granny shagging cunt's legs

Think it is up to the ref, hence how that Portugal player wasn't banned despite getting a red kicking Kane in the head in a friendly prior to the Euros

It's one of the things you'll get used to over the season - CM goes trawling the opposition's forums for us before each match to get a taste of how their fans are viewing the upcoming game.

Yeah, I like it. Let's get foaming at the mouth at the rag cunts instead of trying to tear each other apart waiting out of boredom during the summer.

Funny you put that. Doug had his ladders confiscated (we put up a small protest!) And Chinners ain't even showed up for months let alone give us a flash of bollox.

Chinners is too busy being a music promoter and shadow minister for the OMRLP, that's why you're not getting his bollox.

Perhaps we can get that Braydon kid to have a word with Pep about getting a senior cityzens pass to the CFA next time he's in the back of chappy's cab ;-)

Not bothered about Ted if I'm honest though...

Ted's on Bluemoon. I'm convinced of it.
