I asked about him only one page back.
A lot of people quite excited about this guy. Also Moreno looks increasingly likely as well. Some are saying he is an even better prospect. Neither will be straight into our squad, but with the likes of these two and Angelino, Maffeo, Adarabioyo, Sterling, KDB, possibly Stones, Nacho, Rulli/Gunn, maybe Denayer although Gringo wouldn't approve, you can see some serious long-term planning going on here.
If Pep manages to get a few of these EDS and maybe some Academy players like the Garcias and Diaz, up to Premiership standard and the likes of Roberts and possibly Barker (alyhough I'm not convinced) for him to work with also, take a look at the age profile of our squad in possibly two years time.
It only takes a few key positions filled with World Quality transfers and I think we are looking at a squad that is thinking further ahead than our competitors.

I like everyone else want to see some real quality added to this years squad, but I do get the feeling that, much the same as we crept up on the rest, financially, with a better business plan that they didn't see coming until it was too late. Similarly, I have a feeling that we may blindside some (like our obnoxious neighbours) that really are depending on an instant fix to the predicament they find themselves in. I'm looking at the pattern forming here and although I admit I know little of the quality of some of these names I'm only hearing for the first time this summer, I am getting the feeling that there is another huge wake up call coming in acouple of years.
Would love us to win the Premiership above all else this season, but I am starting to believe that there is a legacy going to be left after the Pep era that will be worth its weight in gold for the next decade.

Wow. Optimism. feels good.

No sympathy for him though. Turkish friends I talk to dislike him quite a lot. Apparently he's gone out of his way to become close to Erdogan and the inner circle of Turkish media/socialites. Spend loads of time opening new restaurants in Istanbul, appearing on shows on TV, and attending fancy galas instead of focusing on football.

Like the rest of their signings this year, underwhelming. The're really gearing up for a 5th place challenge

I think Wijnaldum will be great under Klopp. I think the dippers have done well with him, Mane and Karius, if you don't stare yourself blind at the price tag. Klopp wants hard working, technical footballers, not superstars

I was quite surprised to see the Turkish fans booing him at the Euros.

Higuiain having a medical with Juve. Obviously that might indicate Pogba to the scum. Possible they're counting on the Bonucci fee though, I suppose

Better to scrape over the line than to fall short of it, every team needs at least one grafter to do all the no frills and no glory parts.
