Randy learner is such a dumb cunt. Inherited everything from his father, bought a big PL team just as TV deals started skyrocketing, and still managed to lose £2m.

Does this mean Villa fans are fellow plastics now?

New Manager to be named in a matter of hours SSN reporting. Supposedly Roberto Di Matteo is the man the new owner wants.

Warnock is available - the guy specialises in getting teams into the Prem. I'd give him two seasons with a vague reference to the possibility of a new contract if he gets the team up - then fuck him off for someone decent.

Doesnt matter that they have been bought out. They are dross and will be likely involved in another relegation battle

Relatively little info available on the owner, but this was the best summary I could find:

This is the website of the company that bought Villa http://www.reconig.com

I searched this person ("Dr. Tony Xia", real name Xia Jiantong 夏建统) a bit. Be ware, he seems to be a known fraud. He claims to be a Harvard PhD and even "professor", and used that to obtain a lot of funding for his company. But actually he just obtained Master's degree there. His PhD career is on a permanent leave.

He also claimed to be hired into a world-class company as vice president early in his career, which is nonsense (he registered the company himself). Also he's known to cheat and lie a lot to everybody around him, e.g. constantly betraying his ex wife who "cut relation with parents, had 4 abortions, and worked illegally when still a student" to support his Master's career, promising great compensations for people he hired and never fulfilling them etc. Detailed information(widely reported circa 2009) is available at http://www.xys.org/dajia/xiajt.html, for anybody who can read Chinese.

His Recon Group is a privately owned holding company that owns the controlling interest in five publicly listed companies on the Hong Kong and Chinese stock exchanges and many other private companies employing 35,000 people in 75 countries.

Recon Group is a multinational conglomerate operating in six core business sectors and has taken advantage of China's economic growth over the last two decades as the Government has carried out a programme of moving 500 million people from rural to urban living.

Recon Group has been at the forefront of this giant urbanisation development and holds an estimated 40% market share of the Digital City business sector.

The six core business sectors include IT Infrastructure and Services for Smart Cities, Health & Agriculture, New Energy & Smart Transportation, Engineering & Design, Recon Capital including financial services and Sports, Leisure & Tourism.

Lotus Health Group, part of the Health and Agriculture Division, is listed on the Shanghai Stock Exchange and is the largest glutamic company in China and the second largest in the world with 12,000 employees, 10,000 distributors in China and 40,000 worldwide in 70 countries.

He's promised to make Villa the "biggest club in China". Rumors that hes worth about $28 billion and sounds like he has serious government connections with the type of business he does. Claims to have been a Villa fan for awhile now (why on earth would a rich Chinese guy choose Villa?)

Could go the way of Venkys, but regardless there's interesting times ahead. Also reiterates how much we lucked out with the Sheikh

Tell me he doesn't specialise in getting teams out of the Championship though (through the top door). He can't be too far off retirement now to be honest, so a nice short term contract might be appealing to him.

Sort of, but he'd be better off with a club which was only arsed about surviving thereafter.

Villa need someone who can both get them up and then give them something to get excited about beyond that. I wonder whether this new guy might throw a few quid at Brendan Rodgers. I know I'd rather take the Villa job than the Celtic job.

Which is why I was saying bin him off when he gets them promoted. All he needs is a sniff of a transfer budget (which a new owner might be expected to give him). I'm not sure how many Premier League managers would be willing to drop a division to basically prove themselves again - Rodgers strikes me as someone who thinks he's too big for the Championship.

Heard a Villa fan on the radio earlier (& that accent doesn't make them sound the brightest) moaning that he didn't want the club to go the way of City, just buying players and instead they should use their kids.

Do we start with the fact they've been owned by what they thought was a rich owner for years or that he wants a new billionaire owner to rely on the kids who weren't good enough to get a game this season. Hope he turns the ground into flats and let's them rot

Sort of confirms my experience that when you get past the Brum accent, they aren't the brighest in any case.

Yeah go on mate, use the kids, hello League 1.

Well, if he's going to turn them into the 'biggest club in China', I reckon they'll be moving ground soon.

How much did that Chinese lot pay for 16% of City? 200 M or something.
