Knocked of their perch - we are the big dog now

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

Knocked of their perch - we are the big dog now

Postby Dimples » Tue May 17, 2016 11:19 pm

I'm signing of for the Summer as a very very happy camper.

The Rags are knocked of their perch - never ever ever thought I would see my beloved City pass them out. It feels great.
We have finished ahead of them the past three seasons, no CL for them for 2nd time in 3 years (that must hurt) & no trophies for 3 years :)
We are the big dog now.

We have the most sought after manager in the world on his way, who will get 100% backing at board level.
Gives him every chance of success. I think he will deliver trophies playing great attacking football, include the CL in that trophy haul!
The big dog is still growing.

The Rags are a real mess - the odious one (if he gets the gig) will destroy them, slowly but surely.
They ae now the stuff you see in the rear view mirror, ahead lie Europe's elite - Barca, RM, BM....all of them as vile as the Rags (evil empires all of them).
Yes - I am hung up on the Rags - years of pain you see. But I am in recovery, another decade of success like this and I might just get rid of the bile.

I enjoyed the insightful posts from you folks - some really good stuff - thanks for putting up with me.
C U in August.

I'm struggling with"the odious one". There's loads of competition for that name

Apparently last nights result means United avoided an early season start playing qualification games. Also this is the first time utd have qualified directly for the europa league. SUCCESS. Come on LVG it's got to be in your pre FA Cup final press conference.

But couldn't score for toffee. We are in CL, they are not. Thats all that matters really. Finished above them for three seasons now. Never done that before in my lifetime

He said recently that fan's expectations were too high this season. After spending 200 million in the summer. If that doesn't spell out that you're not the club you used to be, I don't know what does. Luckily, the glazers seem to want to emulate arsenal's annual 4th place trophy, which means they're going the way of 90's liverpool

They finished on the same points as us and also reached a cup final. Also, they beat us this season and we didn't beat them.

Yes we finished above them but I don't think we're in a position to be seriously gloating. We already have that stupid laughing thread and now this.

Once Pep joins and if Van Gaal stays then we should be in a far better position than them, but let's make sure that happens first and have fewer of these lame threads.

I have many tossers on FB that have gone into hiding. They would have been out in force had they snatched 4th place. I am going to rub Thursday night football in their faces at every opportunity.
