Yeah Yeah, but the rags........ Fuck off are they going score 19.... they will play their under 15s against Bournemouth and not one mention will be made of it anywhere in the press....

Anyway on to more important matters

We find out on 5th August who we will be playing come 16th/17th August

So far we could face any of these (others to be confirmed)

Shakhtar Donetsk (Ukraine)
Ajax (Netherlands)
Monaco (France)
Fenerbahce (Turkey)
Sparta Prague (Czech Republic)
Steaua Bucharest (Romania)
Young Boys Berne (Switzerland)
Gent (Belgium)
Panathinaikos (Greece)
CSKA Moscow or Rostov (Russia)

Some names stick out here that we've played before, it'd make a change playing CSKA in the summer! Peter Parker would be happy if we got Steaua,

Thoughts?

Young Boys play in the wankedorf Stadium, which even as I type it is wrong.

Think we avoid Ajax, Shaktar, etc. Seeding or something. We should be OK...

there are a few teams there we will do well to avoid.
new manager, new philosophy, new players, no competitive games under the belt and then a tricky qualifying tie, its not going to be plain sailing is it.

I'm assuming our fairly high coefficient will secure us a top seeds spot.

This year it was divided into Champions and non Champions. So a tough draw is on the cards I'd suggest.

Tricky away tie and 6-0 home win.

Steaua (FCSB actually. A long story. here is something you can see https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oYX62_TNFPQ) are really shit. Lightyear difference between the team that faced and won with Chelsea in 2013. It would be a perfect fit for us, however, they will not get through the third round.

I would take Panathinaikos from that pot.

Correct. We will definitely avoid those two, but could also face Monchengladbach or Roma.

The Wankdorf stadium. But yes it is a silly name.

Not sure if we might get in trouble with the US Americans by making simple statements like 'I would prefer the young Boys of Bern'. I am sure they would read
something into it .

For obvious reasons I would prefer this tie, it's down the road from Zürich. The stadium is small but great views all around and finally benefit from travelling around Europe to see City.

Still there is a long way to go yet for many teams.

Edit: Also , I see that the final is being played in Cardiff. Which would be nice.

Actually, Shakhtar would be a good fit. Rumour is that their manager is leaving after 13 years and they will sell all their brazilians. Ahmedov wants out after all that happened in Ukraine.

It's two legged. If we don't win we deserve to go out. None of those teams should worry us to be honest. Obviously would prefer not to have the rigmarole of qualifying but it is what it is. Might actually work in our favour in that we won't be jet setting all around the world like previous years.

We still are jetting off the games aren't until after the Prem kicks off we will have had 2 competitive matches in the league under our belt before we play qualifying

Oh, ok. Maybe the trip organiser will take these extra two games into consideration when detailing our itinerary? Shan't hold my breath mind

Aguero etc will miss the play off games, according to the OS, if Argentina reach the final or maybe the semi finals of the copa America. The final of that tournament is Aug 20th

The final for the Copa is June 26th. August 20th is the gold medal game for the Olympics.
