So it's goodbye to Pellers.
I'd like to say thank you for your tenure. We've won three pots in three years. Been top scorers in each of those seasons. We have progressed in the CL and were just a goal away from the final. There has been much to savour.
Yes, there have also been disappointments. Not least in the PL this season, but there are other threads for that. I'd just like to remember the good and great times he has brought us.
Adios Manuel, you will always be welcomed back in my eyes

Good-luck for the future. A good interim appointment and a steady pair of hands but not good enough for a side that wants to dominate in all competition. Similar level to Mancini imo.

I've been an admirer since his days with Villarreal, and I am sad to see him go, even though our poor league campaign suggests it is time.
His first season here was incredible, and with all the poisonous characters who have come and gone in the PL, he has always represented us with nothing but dignity. I am glad he leaves with a few winners medals and a proper heartfelt sendoff from our amazing away support. So much was riding on today.
Onwards and upwards with Pep (!!!), but forever grateful to El Ingeniero.
Farewell, Manuel (and Ruben), and best wishes.
"Certainly our programme is a full one, but as a player and as a manager I've always felt that there is only one way to go into a season...and that's to try to win every game.... While we are in four major competitions we shall try to win four major competitions." - Joe Mercer

And 2nd highest PL win percentage of any manager
Time to go, but history will look back much much more kindly on Pellers time here than many make out.
Always a gent and wish him the best. Now go get some sleep

Had worse?
Don't know how many managers we have ever had but it must be thirty or more. Comfortably in the top four or five surely?

Exactly. The style of football in his first season and the amount of goals we scored was staggering and should never be forgotten.

Amongst the city records he's broken that you quite rightly mention, I have to add for context that being better than the majority of the abject shite we've had in my lifetime isn't much of an achievement. But that's definitely being churlish.
I will always remember his time incredibly fondly, an excellent ambassador to the club and we shared some great times, even though it ended on a bit of a downward trajectory for him and his tactical and motivational capabilities were found lacking on the biggest stages over the 3 years.
Would love to see him manage at another English club next year.
Nb, do the undead sleep?

Truly great almost unbelievable first season. A real City highlight.

I appreciate all of the respectful plaudits for Pellegrini but he has finished with a worst statistical record than Mancini and he leaves behind a squad that needs gutting.
One League Cup win in the last two seasons is totally unacceptable when considering the resources he has compared to other managers and remember we lost ten league games this year out of 38.
Today's performance summed him up for me , this was a game we should have won easily and instead we let them back into the game that was actually worth a fortune to us.

Season 1: Look how good Mancini's squad is.
Season 2: All season we heard about our poor title defense, won nothing.
Season 3: LC final says it all. Played well, impotent when it counts.
Thank you for not fucking up Mancini's squad too much in the first season and getting us the league title. Other than that, some of the most dire football I've seen since Pearce and Ball. This season I hated watching us, that hasn't happened since 2006. So thank you Pellegrini for making me hate something I love. Also, fuck you.
