OK, I'll rephrase it explicitly as this thread is about Pellegrini, not Iheanacho, and my question was about Pellegrini's ability to develop players, not about Iheanacho joining the first team.

Has anyone noticed or heard of an improvement in Iheanacho's game over the past couple of years that was down to Pellegrini's coaching? Genuine question. We've seen an improvement already in Sterling under Pep and Delph has spoken enthusiastically about learning from Pep. I've not heard of anything like that about Pellegrini but am willing to have my perception corrected.

And this goes back to my point. Pellegrini was keeping the seat warm for somebody else why would he be developing the kids for the next manager to reap the benefits of?

He knew his time at city was going to be a max of 3 years and focused on utilising the players that gave him the best chance of winning honours, hence he left an ageing squad behind. It's so obvious I'm surprised you keep asking why he didn't develop the kids.
As for Iheanacho well he's a talent he proved that last season and as has been accepted he's young and is gonna make mistakes and I'm sure will learn from them.

He he clearly did not belong at the elite level, but this gives him a good pay off before retiring back in Chile.
