Match abandoned at the swamp

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

Match abandoned at the swamp

Postby nottsblue » Sun May 15, 2016 2:11 pm

Unprecedented as far as I can remember. Is this real, in which case the right decision has been made or is it sportsmanship of the highest order.

Given their late turn ups at spuds and hammers I smell a rat.

I've read folk were being searched on entry. That's a new thing. I don't like the fuckers at the best of times, but it is worrying.

I was searched with a metal detector before going in against Arsenal and I had to put all the stuff in my pockets in a tray whilst the guy searched me.

Anyone know if this is going to happen at every match now?

I asked on the other thread:

When I came last time on our stadium, the security was really impressive. I am thinking it is quite the same on every ground. I mean, I never saw anything like this anywhere else. Is there really any danger on a situation like this?

For the game to be abandoned is a big deal. It's not merely a case of someone misplacing a bag.

Very worrying, especially with the Euros coming up.

I've been in charge of such a situation. Crowd of 6000.

What do you do? Gotta take the safe option

Aye. I'm not going to the euros but I'm genuinely shitting it that something will happen and if it does, it'll be a huge societal game changer.

Doesn't help that the ra seem to be quietly on the resurgence too.

They have been saying about increased risk from the Irish, so no surprise really.

As for the Euros, anyone fancy going to a Belgium game in France? Me neither

old trafford is not usually a target for irish loonies looking for somewhere to bomb.
