But they don't. There has been a steady stream of talent away from Spurs for years. Usually for decent money, but gone nevertheless.

Who have spurs let go that has gone on to bigger and better things. Gareth Bale was a world record fee so you can understand them lettingt him go.

Modric, before that Carrick, arguably Berbatov.

Luka Modric is another. They don't really have any world class players at the moment that top teams would go after (besides Kane who has a connection to the club). They have a lot of really good players, but not top .01% good. When they do have a next level player, they get sold.

Will be interesting how long Harry Kane sticks around. Since this season is a bit like liverpools before they lost Suarez. Good, but not good enough, and as good as it'll get for awhile.

I'm not saying they don't get decent money, they do, but the star names have always gone.
Funnily enough I think that is about to change. I'm not sure you could get Kane off them right now.

Modric, Stambouli and you can't discount Bale just because of the price. It's still going on to bigger and better things regardless.

It goes back to Gascoigne you could argue.

Yes but for a world record fee. Everyone has a price. Rags and Ronaldo. Barca and Figo.

It's always been kind of accepted tip players aren't going to fulfill their ambitions Spurs.
Levy says they aren't for sale
No
Never
At any price
Then they get sold

Looks like the spurs model is a money spinner
Carricky signed from whu for 3.5m and was only at spuds 2 seasons and sold for 18m.

Modric signed for 16m played four seasons and sold for 30m.

Berbatov bought for 10m played 2 seasons and sold for 31m.

Got to hand it to levy, he is a cracking businessman.

16m loss on him. I am not saying levy is perfect, paulinho was another bad one(-7m). However, I bet his stats show a very healthy balance in the black for transfers even without the outrageous amount they got for Bale.

Funny how he scored this season more than Rooney and Hazard.
