Roberto Martinez has been sacked by Everton with immediate effect, according to Sky sources.

The Toffees have picked up only four points in the Premier League since March 5 and the 3-0 loss to Sunderland on Wednesday stretched their dismal run of form to just one win in 10 matches in all competitions.

Martinez, who had three years remaining on his contract, led Everton to the semi-finals of the FA Cup and Capital One Cup this season, but their poor league form has ultimately proved his undoing and he leaves after nearly three years at the club.

Agreed, no big surprise he's gone.

They did it this afternoon because fans were apparently to set to protest at the clubs end of season awards dinner......

I don't personally like the thought of Pellers going there though

No chance of rafa going to them, they hate him from his time at liverpool and his comments about them being a small club.

Pelligrini would be a disaster too, hes like a fancier version of Martines, neither can build a defence...

Thats a very strange one, as is Karanka at Boro, there seems to be disharmony between board and manager, despite both managers doing a great job.
