Is that a photo of Mark Clattenburg standing next to somebody, seemingly on his holidays?

A CL tattoo?

Is it next to the one of a full brown paper bag?

King Kev wrote:If you read Mark Halsey's book (which is very good) it is very clear indeed that the referees associations are basically closed shops and you only get on if you kiss the right arses.

Decisions such as who will referee big games are made partly on a voting system (amongst the hierarchy of the refereeing governing bodies) and partly on the scores that refs get for each game. These scores are given by assessors who are also part of the closed shop.

I'm not suggesting that all referees are bent (although some clearly are) just that the decisions for big games are skewed in favour of the arse-kissers and those who favour pedantic rule following rather than commonsense during their games.

Basically, the big games are given to the best arse-kissers, not the best referees.

Glad to see this problem is finally getting some attention.

Well done Gary Neville for having some bollocks whilst the rest of the media sticks their heads in the sand.

Depends on the linesmen, hopefully it's not that Beck cunt again, hadn't seen him do any of our games since that debacle at Spurs last season until the 'ammers game last week where he wrongly flagged Aguero offside when he was through one on one with Adrian.

Thanks CM, that Collin bloke is the one who failed to spot Kane offside at a set piece in the second half against Spurs despite the fact our defensive line was stood on the 18 yard line and Kane was stood in the box.

I don't get why they come as a team? Why isn't it that the refs are allocated a match, then the other officials allocated a match, why do they need to stick together? It's fucking horseshit and that linesman is a massive twat.

That's what I was afraid of. I think it is the linesmen who will do us in this one. They really seem to hand pick their men.
Doesn't auger well.

Lent this from another site. This is Clattencunts record in the last 5 seasons of matches he's reffed between the so-called top 6 clubs.
(And this at a time when we've finished 1st, 2nd, 1st, 2nd, 4th.)

Very telling that little table. His appointment for Saturday is not a good omen. Let's see how many marginal decisions we get
