Out of interest, before 12 months ago what did you know (& the rest of us for that matter) know it as or call it (including the press and MOTD)?

NOT having a pop, genuine question...

You're quite right, I did know it was called the Boleyn ground, probably because I have a few WH supporting friends who insist on using the name, but I always referred to it as Upton Park.

Walmai is the best person to ask.

I'm no expert but I think it may be called the Boleyn ground because of Anne Boleyn

I think Sky decided to drop the Boleyn bit when they took over management of football.

At the same time they became official sponsor of manu

True, according to this.

From Wikipedia

"The club rented Green Street House and grounds in the Municipal Borough of East Ham from the Roman Catholic Church from around 1912. Green Street House was known locally as Boleyn Castle because of its imposing nature and an association with Anne Boleyn, who had either stayed at or, as some believe, owned the house. Hence renting the grounds of "Boleyn Castle" the name Boleyn Ground came into being. Today the ground is far more commonly known as Upton Park, after the Upton Park, London area in which it is located."

Mind you, I think it should be called "The Just Deserts ground"

The filth certainly got theirs tonight.

The bus was attacked because they were late.

The ground was known by most people as Upton Park over the 60 years I have been watching - even Alf Garnett and the programmes about the WHU players in the 1966 World Cup called it Upton Park. Piers Morgan put it nicely this morning saying 'Upton Park which has been called the Boleyn Ground recently by some people'. I had never heard the Boleyn name until Alan Brazil started using it a lot a couple of years ago. I looked it up at the time and the Wiki entry then then 'Upton Park but nicknamed the Boleyn Ground by some'.

In the media today it is very difficult to discover exactly what time United's bus was attacked - so that means it was already very late;-)

We are all well aware of this fact.

I mentioned the BBC report only because of the way they have spun the story around. To say that the FA are looking into the incident.

Rather than saying that this is the second time the Rags have tried something dirty like this ( if they knew they were late , they know they have screwed up the home teams plans and preparation, knowing full well what they hve to do once at the ground).

And that the Rags should really have been on time or even earlier. No mention about that deliberate tactic.

Rags should be docked points for this. Not the first time it's happened.

Mentioned this earlier. They failed to fulfil the fixture. Mandatory 3-0 default for the other side

One of my closest friends is a hammer. He never cols it Upton Park. He has always referred to it a boleyn. It's how I found out many years ago. I must admit I was like wtf are you on about whether I first met him.

More likely the game will be replayed because the scum bus was attacked and it obviously affected the players. And it will keep getting replayed until the scum win.

Did you see the silly twats pulling faces on the floor of the bus? Firstly what a bunch of knobs and secondly who on earth, from within the club group, is permitted to put such stupid footage on social media?

No class, never had.

Boleyn Road is right beside the ground. A mate in work is a West Ham supporter and he says it's always been the Boleyn Ground. Upton Park tube station serves it, maybe that's why so many people refer to it as that.
Anyway. Good game last night. Who were the bigger bottlers.....The Rags or the West Ham supporters.......
or will it be us on Sunday?

Not so sure playing MDM is going to improve our chances of a draw.
