staying behind on Sunday

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

Fair points BigBlue - but playing devils advocate of the view that fans are being spoiled brats, do you think Apple shareholders saw the recent drop in sales of iPhones for the first time ever and said: "fuck it, you know what, we were nothing compared to HP or Microsoft 15 years ago, we're now the biggest company in the world so we should be happy with that"

People leading successful organizations would never accept resting on your laurels because you were a stack of shit once upon a time, and that's ultimately why Pellegrini isn't still in a job, because fortunately it appears our owner doesn't share that view

He's ultimately not in the job because we've secured the manager that was always the target the moment our CEO was appointed.

Whilst on one level I agree that this looks likely to have always been the plan, I'd also say that if he had maximised the squad's potential, he would likely be sitting on two or three premier league titles and Pep would have stayed at Bayern until the time was acceptable to bring him in.

It's not that you need to be happy with it. Be angry, disappointed, whatever.

But be an adult and show some basic respect. Be able to see the bigger picture and represent your club the best you can.

Having a 90% empty stadium for a minute long speech from a manager that won us 3 trophies (at a club that had won nothing for decades) is a fucking disgrace.

I think a lot of fans think we're blowing this huge advantage we currently have with our infrastructure and money. Guardiola is our dream manager but if we're out of CL that effects not only our chances of winning it (obviously, and presumably that's a big part of why he's here) but it also constrains our spending power (effectively handing £50 million to the rags). Thursday night/Sunday football next year isn't going to help us win the league, either. In light of this, when fans see half-hearted performances from the players and poor decisions from the manager they are bound to vent their feelings, and justifiably so. This will all end one day and we're not making the most of it while we can.

Fuck the media ! They throw any shite at us without any excuse every day of the week . 90% of city fans are deflated and frustrated , this season has gone horribly wrong no matter how the club try to spin it and paper over the cracks . No way was I clapping some of them under performing players earning millions , in fact it could have got nasty so best so many fucked off tbh !

I agree fuck the media, to me that is not the point, our last home game and a chance to stay behind loud and proud , Ok the players have under performed big time, Stay and give it them then ! The fans have had a mare the atmosphere has been shite more often than not. I think us all there doing the poznan would have pissed all over the media who have had it all there own way. Just my thoughts in a season I have stopped going to most away games as we have taken the piss. I get it, I just do not see how the walk out is anything but crap.

So if 50,000 had stayed and 'given it them', by which I assume you mean vent your anger, are you saying it wouldn't have been treated any differently either by the media, or by the players/manager?

The argument against those who leave early during games, goes that leaving early is disrespectful to the team's efforts. If that view holds water, walking out and leaving them to an empty stadium is surely the perfect way to show just how fucked off the fans are with their gutless shit this season.

Bullshit. I show my loyalty by going to the games and supporting the team, never leaving until the final whistle regardless of the scoreline. But I'll be fucked if I'm going to stay behind and applaud some of the spineless wankers we have in this squad and a clueless manager

It's a comical argument for me in defense of Manuel and in painting fans who are annoyed with what he's delivered the last 18 months as "fickle" or "spoiled."

It's just goddam normal. Jesus.

Cheers Sparty for being the voice of fucking reason bro.

Exactly. And fuck the media, they'll slag us off regardless of whether we stayed behind or not. If everyone had stayed they'd find something else to have a dig at us about. The media was the last thing on my mind yesterday

So 50,000 kids walked out of that stadium? If Pellers has been such a success why are we replacing him? It's been a disappointing season - I wasn't going to stand around clapping them like some hypocrite when they have put in some spineless performances this season. If you think that's childish, fair enough.

Stand there after the game and clap players that couldn't give a shit about us as fans only shows the ones staying and the next lot that it's okay not to give a fuck because this lot will still stay back and inflate our egos more anyway.

It also shows the Chairman and owner that we're fuming about what's happened and hopefully he won't let it drag out again.

And say you all caused this to happen, now go and make it right. You would hope that they are rightly ashamed of the part they all played in what happed at the end of the game yesterday.

The majority of CITY fans have spoken , thats why 90% of our game attending fans walked out...and so would I of done.

Pellegrini has been poor all season and the warning signs were there the previous season , never learned from his mistakes even though the penny dropped long ago.......missing out on the CL (Probably) is a disgrace in itself with our resourses - to think he was left a Premier winning team by Mancini and has steadily made us worse, is in itself, unacceptable.

Bayern Munich and Man City told the world of the managerial changes..........BM won their league ,in the final of their cup , SF CL...and lets be clear, their football was a fuckign joy to watch even though they lost out on goal difference , so for the fans who like to point to this as the reason why we we have been shite is complete nonsense.

You could inflame it even more by asking some more stupid questions ,like is anyone really really upset that the rags could end the season above us ?.......or have you asked that one already ?
