One last big night for the Yaya monster?

Postby PeterParker » Fri Apr 29, 2016 1:09 pm

Can he do it one more time? Frustrates the hell out of us and acts like a cunt many, many times, but one of the best players we ever had.

Big game champion, King of Wembley and most of all, a monster when we really needed him. He will be fit Wednesday. Can he do it one more time?

Hopefully having played for Barcelona will give him extra motivation to beat Madrid. Given how Sergio has gone missing the last few CL games, we need KDB or someone like Yaya to step up. And maybe the injury has given the big man a chance to rest for a week or two, so he can give us a full 90 minutes of domination like a few years ago.

If there is anyone to score a 35 yard rocket to win the CL semi-final away in Madrid, Yaya is the man

Sounds really daft but would we be worse off with Yaya as a number 10 and KDB through the middle. Aguero looked way off the pace the other night. we only need to score once potentially and we have players other than Kun to do that

Or is Yaya the obvious replacement for Silva, rather than Sterling.

Not a bad idea since he's way stronger than Pepe and Ramos and just about as fast. Gives them a new challenge since Kun didn't really threaten at all.

But who knows, maybe Kuns chatting with Messi about how to break down Real and this next game might be Sergio's big moment during an international tournament.

Pepe and Ramos are rapid , couldn't believe my eyes when I saw them at the Etihad Tuesday night . Seriously top quality , Yaya Zimmerman frame fodder compared to those two !

I am not worried about his finess.

What I want to see is his huge ego. I want it to come alive one more time. At this point, almost everyone has written him off, the media is talking about what he used to be and so on.

He knows that, but lacks his famous hunger.

Yes he can do it. If he is fit and fresh then he can take Silva's place. At his best he is head and shoulders above anyone they have.

Wouldn't start for me, but from the bench with 20 to go played behind Aguero he could win it.

Although hopefully we're 3-0 up with 20 to go

Yaya absolutely must play. Wecouldnt retain possession onTuesday once Big Dave went off.
Against a side like Madrid you cannot afford to keep giving the ball away.

I see him coming in for silva and playing ahead of the two ferns. I do worry about him shutting down, byt the flip side is he's more of a goal threat.

Let's see hey.
Tracking back is overrated.

If he does come in for Silva then any tracking he does is a bonus as Silva doesnt have that as part of his game these days. Wouldnt be a bad swap

Why wouldn't Sterling start and Yaya come off the bench?

Sterling is possibly the least capable of our squad when it comes to retaining possession. Silva retains the ball well and he was badly missed when he went off. If we keep giving the ball away they will murder us. Silva, Nasri and Yaya are the best at that for me. We really need Yaya in my opinion. I would start with 5 in midfield and just Aguero up top. If we can keep it tight Yaya can nudge further forward as the game goes on.

In the away leg we will be under a lot of pressure and our best chances will be counter attack. we need players who can hold the ball, he can do that. But we will need both Fs continually working their gonads off behind him. Let yaya distribute the ball on the counter.

He's more of a liability if we play him at Madrid. He's record for us in Europe has been shite.

That's my worry too.
We've done well when he's been dropped.
Now it looks like we have no choice but to play him.
There is no doubt when he's up for it, we retain possession better than without him. My fear is he can't play in the centre, it will have to be in the hole behind Kun and he will mot last 90 minutes.
So do you play him from the start or on as an impact sub for 20 mins.

I've feared a pasting in the CL all year. I just hope next Wednesday isn't it. Whatever happens, I just hope they give a good account of themselves and give it their all.
Every one of them.
