That is one year old, Jim.
He said earlier he is leaving at the end of the season.

It would have been nice if he told the manager first .

I was 100% honest and spontaneous in answering that question at today's press conference. But anyone who knows me also knows that my greatest honesty is with Man City and my duties as team captain.

He did address it, he gave an honest response when asked the question. Got to respect him, he said he's going, so can't see him changing his mind. Can't say the same about some other poster who keeps telling us he's leaving every 5 min

Need a DM? Why? Fern has barely played in last two seasons and rarely in an important match

A great player for us over the last decade or so. Though its now a case of one great player leaves, another one takes his place. We are and have been truly spoilt over the last decade

Because Rodri needs backup.
And he is no Fern.

Equally as a Legend as the others but probably the most understated of them all, he will be an incredibly hard act to follow without a shadow of doubt.

If he hadn't called that emergency team meeting last season, we would have one less Title than we currently have.

He isn’t as good as Fern, absolutely. But he is no mug either. Gundogan can be back up and I’ve often thought Silva would be a good DM as cover with his work rate and tenacity. Not really tall enough for it to be his permanent position though.

He has leader in his DNA. I was rather hoping he would stay on in some coaching capacity after this season, but I guess he isn’t ready to hang his boots up just yet

Guardiola praised club captain Fernandinho's influence as he added: "I know what he has done, behind me, he handles many of our players and stars for the benefit of the team."

"An incredible player for Manchester City. There are things nobody knows but I know exactly what he has done."

Just watched the interview. Fern looked and sounded quite pissed off.

I would’ve thought we’d take him on in the coaching set-up but looks like he’s been overlooked?

He could teach the kids a thing or two. That role is so important for us so you’d think he’d be given a year or two with Lavia.

Don't think so, he said he wants to continue playing hence going back to Brazil. Once he's hung his boots up I reckon he will be back then.
