MLS has to be one of the most unpredictable leagues around

NYC was on a great run of form and red bulls have been shit lately. And now NYC are losing 6-0. Vieria needs to sign a new back 4

Vieira not doing himself any favours. According to the BBC Lampard was booed by City fans. He apparently earns more than the whole of the Red Bulls squad put together.

I'm just watching it now. Defence looks awful on this showing. Goalie looks poor too. David Villa outshone by BWP. Very strange.

Just goes to show that signing aging European stars on the decline for big money doesnt guarantee anything in MLS.

For anyone that actually watches NYCFC, have Pirlo, VillA, and Lampard really done anything during their stays?

Villa scores a goal every 1.5 games or so. Lampard has contributed little.

I've barely watched, and plan to try more for the rest of the summer.

Yesterday's performance (losing 0-7 to in the fairly new NY derby against Red Bulls, when NYCFC was playing well in 1st or 2nd coming in and Red Bulls struggling was was more than shocking and I only caught the last 20-30 minutes. The defending on set pieces was atrocious.

Meanwhile Pirlo was invisible. After the game, I think one of the in studio hosts asked if anyone had seen Pirlo at the game.

A set of fans have disliked Lampard since the whole loan fiasco, and he has barely played, infuriating fans further. He also makes more money than the entire Red Bulls team (as was mentioned somewhere). He came on very late in the 2nd half and the reception was far from warm. You could hear boos, while most did nothing.

Villa has been the better of the three as far as I understand.

Yankee Stadium is also an awful place to play football, and they need to get that sorted. The problem is that it is hard to find real estate in NYC for a stadium right now. It's not particularly popular.

Did better than last week. 2-2 at home to Orlando. Villa with a deadful penalty miss, slicing it high over the bar when it was 2-0.

The pressure is on Vieira now. Lets see what he is made of

Yeah that equaliser really was the dictionary definition of a sucker punch.

Villa was unlucky with the penalty miss. His left foot slipped and he kicked the ball onto his left foot with his right foot. He looked good all the way through and scored a great goal. Could still have done a job for us last season I think.

Villa was over confident and trying to be cheeky and dink it. That team created untold scoring opportunities then shoot them selves in the foot regularly. Doing it the city way I guess.

Nice to see Pirlo still pinging passes all over the pitch though.

Big problem is NYCFC struggle at home. Why? They want to play a more attacking style, but the pitch at Yankee Stadium is atrocious, and the most narrow pitch, possibly in the world, leading away teams to play a style that works more so than Vieira's.

NYC have some very good players but not 11 of them. Villa and Pirlo the pick but one or two defenders made some great interceptions.

The more this continues, the less likely that we are growing our next manager in the US. PV might well be someone who the younger players see with awestruck eyes, but his tactical performances at youth and now with NYFC are questionable to say the least. 7:0 and throwing away a 2:0 lead are not good enough at any level & he's got a hell of a lot of work to do if he thinks he'll be heir apparent.

I watched most of this and NY were by far the better team. Need some killer instinct I fear.

Just watching the rerun of NYC v Philadelphia. After huge disappointment against Orlando I made sure I checked the result beforehand this time. So I can confidently predict a 3-2 City win.

Lampard, Villa and Pirlo. Well done chaps

NYC just beat red bulls 2-0. Decent result and good to see frank villa and pirlo all play.

Top of the league.

Just possible that Vieira learned a lot from the previous drubbing and put things right. Well done Patrick
