New York City 2016

Postby john@staustell » Sun Mar 06, 2016 1:31 pm

So Mr. Vieras men have their first run out live on Sky at 7-15 Sunday evening at Chicago.

Last year was largely disappointing, so here's hoping for better fare this season under Patrick V.

The Australian lot are slowly getting better, and we must be due to buy or start another branch of mighty City soon.

Been great entertainment so far, quality is average at best and the defending is as comedic as last season.

NYC just gone ahead again. 2-1

3-1 now. Goals seems to be guaranteed in the MLS

3-1. I reckon Bony would manage an occasional goal in the MLS.

Bonkers game. 4-3 to City with 5 mins left. Chicago could/should have had 3 penalties, had probably 20 or more chances.

Even an ageing Demechelis would improve this defence.

Had it on the background today but I just can't get myself excited about nycfc.

It has raised my interest in MLS tho as otherwise I had not even put in on the backg

One can't be fanatical. But the sickening media circus around LA and soon to be Beckham United drives us to NYC of course

I watched it, of course the standard was shocking but it was very entertaining. Will try and watch as many games as i can because of the obviosu link to city. Hope Paddy V does well.

I spent a season following the non-leagues and enjoying it - just got to 'manage your expectations' as they say. Lots of hard work can get the job done sometimes. Here's hoping Paddy has an influence on them.

After watching the match I came to the conclusion that we must employ the same defensive coach for all 3 teams in our brand as New York are shit at the back as are both us and Melbourne.

Same philosophy but not necessarily the same coach. 'We try to win every game. Eeez not important whether we play home or away"

Unfortunately that means you have to be so good you 'Barcelona' the oppo every match. None of the 3 are close!
