How lively is he looking so far?

Just hit the bar from twenty odd yards. Doing well

The 29-year-old England international has not made a final decision, but is understood to favour extending his time at the King Power Stadium.

Arsenal made a reported bid of £20m for Vardy, activating a release clause in his contract and offering him a deal reported to be worth £120,000 a week.

Leicester responded with an offer said to be worth £100,000.

Scored 24 goals in the PL and has scored a few times for England to boot. £100k in the current climate is very reasonable especially when you consider some of the wages we have paid out over the years. Good luck to him if he gets it

He reminds me of Yaya. Bigger and quicker than the rest and more technically gifted. In a game like this Yaya would score the winner in a 1-0.

Michael Ricketts had a good season once mate.
It's more the point that Vardy was playing non-league five years ago and will now be getting £100k p/w! Crazy story!

I see where you are coming from but this is the time for him to cash in. He is not likely to have another season like he had just had and with stories of youth players at Chelsea wanting £40k a week he is just asking for the PL top scorer going rate.

City, Barca in fight for Brazilian star

It appears battle lines have been drawn for a player considered by some in Brazil to have the potential to be the new Neymar.

In one corner, Barcelona. In the other, former Barca boss Pep Guardiola and Manchester City. The player? Gabriel Jesus.

Let's start with City: The Sun reports that Guardiola has offered £16.7 million for the Palmeiras forward.

It adds that the 19-year-old has two release clauses in his contract, with one allowing City, Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Manchester United, Paris Saint-Germain or Real Madrid to sign him for that amount.

The other, applicable to any other club caring to bid, is for £27.8m.

With Gabriel Jesus having attracted the attention of "a host of European giants," City "have made the first real move," the Sun says.

But hang on -- Barcelona have also made an offer and have started talks with Palmeiras, Spanish outlet Sport says.

Negotiations, according to its report, "could progress over the coming days," with Barcelona scouts believing a move for the teenager would be "a safe bet."

Palmeiras are reportedly resigned to the fact that they will lose Jesus this summer -- and it appears only to be a question of to which club.

Pobga is class, indeed, but I think he did not reach Yaya`s level yet. Plus the trophies of our Big Man stand in his favour.

Being 10 years or so older might have something to do with it?

Yes and no. Pogba will not become Messi over night. He is almost at his best. From now on he needs to win european trophies with his club and stand out. With bad and worse, Yaya became the best player in Africa a few times. Pogba did not. He did not receive the French Best Player of the Year, yet. And this comes from someone who is disappointed of Toure.

Please not Andros Townsend FFS. Nor Walcott or Oxlade Chamberlain. If we can get Sane maybe.

The Townsend thing is a joke smokescreen. We should just play Brahim Diaz and realise we have the talent already

Same goes for Stones in my opinion.
We have youngsters with as much potential that wouldn't cost exorbitant prices.
