How was the Bonucci news?

Did they offered him now? Or when the rumour started. From what I understood, a third party got involved in this.

I doubt it will be both Sane and Mahrez, at best it will be one of them. We need to start shifting players out, we have a ridiculous amount of midfielders at this stage.

I hope Mahrez was not a one season wonder type of player.

If we get the Mahrez from last year, he could be huge for us.

Seems doubtful we'll get Mahrez and Sane. One or the other I think.

Manchester City have made a formal approach to sign West Ham United's teenage star Reece Oxford.

Contact was made last night for the 17-year-old who made such a huge impression on the Premier League last season.

Pep Guardiola's scouts have been watching Oxford during the recent Under 19 European Championships.

Several rival Premier League clubs are also monitoring the situation, but now City have solidified their interest with a direct approach for the youngster.

Oxford has only two years remaining on his Hammers deal, alerting numerous clubs to his uncertain future.

A £10 million bid from Bundesliga's Red Bull Leipzig was rebuffed earlier in the summer, so City are sure to have to offer considerably more to make the move happen.

The first official contact by City has put that train in motion. West Ham must now decide whether to cash in on one of their most promising talents or propose a significant improvement in his current terms.

Symbolically, it would be a huge setback for West Ham to lose Oxford who became the youngest player in the club's history last August. He is also the second youngest Premier League starter in history.

He began last season in the first team, aged 16, with an extraordinarily mature performance in a victory away at Arsenal.

He has been at West Ham since Under 13 level, hoping to be next graduate of the club's famed Academy.

Now it is City and Guardiola who want to oversee this progress.

Feeling like we are signing a lot of players for the future rather than to help this season I gather.

More interesting is the fact that we seem to keep every single player we have. No one is close of leaving us.

My guess was that Pep wanted everyone around to see them in training, then decide who is going and who is staying. The problem is that the league is starting in 3 weeks.

That could be part of the reason. Another is trying to not seem so desperate to get rid of our players as we have in the past taking deals that aren't that great. The season is long and the transfer window is open until 1 September. Not ideal, but Pep may think worst case scenario he can try to improve with what he has rather than dump so far below market value.
