Same goes for Stones in my opinion.
We have youngsters with as much potential that wouldn't cost exorbitant prices.

Stones can't get in the England first team. How on earth can he be good enough for us?

He's not good enough, he's barely good enough for Everton. Hyped up to be a "ball playing defender" to mask the fact he's crap at defending

Townsend must be bullshit. Of the highest order. Unless a Pep has had a lobotomy recently

Not a chance in the world. If Andros was on a free I wouldn't want him ahead of some spicy 16 yr old given a chance to earn his stripes.

Can you tell ITV that, they're very much under the impression that he's off to Barca. Or do they just not want to mention City, which would be the obvious choice.

Yes I heard Tyldesley saying there was interest in him and only mentioning barca. Reports suggesting pep told txiki to act quickly and close the deal. Fee reported to be £13.8 or £14.1m depending on which you read.

He'd be a good acquisition in my book and at that price I wouldn't be too worried about him not quite making it; which I'm sure he would.

Am I the only one underwhelmed at the thoughts of him joining.
Not bad money but he hasn't shown anything special in my book.
A decent squad player is all I see.

At the price quoted, that's exactly what he is.

Would he replace Navas or Nasri?

I'm sure there are those that will say yes for Navas but I want to see Navas under Pep. I think he has a better touch than Nolito from what I've seen.
Nasri is technically better but who knows if he stays.
My view is why are we spending on squad players still. Spend on absolute quality first teamers. Keep what is good enough for the squad and back fill the rest from the academy. We have to bite the bullet on that one eventually.

He may not be a replacement for either as when they are fit they have been first choice. Not sure if it's Navas' time to move on. I like him but doesn't seem in the plans for many.

Navas could make a fullback/wingback at a push - and we need one of those on the right sooner rather than later.
