I was gutted when I thought he was staying at Villa, as after a quiet start, he'd really come on in a poor side. We needed more width, kept running into a packed defence through the middle. Presumably Pellers wanted to keep his more creative players on
I didn't disagree with Navas and width, but of the three midfielders he wasnt my first choice to come off (neither was Fernandinho)

Great business at 8 mill. No question. We are, and should be, a million miles better than VIlla. It will be interesting to see his contribution when we play Barca, Real and Bayern. That's the company our players need to be comfortable in.

Delph started less than 100 league games in 6 years at Villa where he regularly had injuries. I can't see any sense in buying injury prone players.

If we wanted we could have a squad of 17 foreign players and supplement that with under21s.
