Best value signing we've made since Pablo Zabaleta in my view. If we'd paid what we paid for Bony for him and what we paid for him for Bony then we'd have few complaints and life would make far more sense! I replayed an incident, in the Everton match last night, on 42 minutes when the commentator said Toure had won a tackle even though he'd clearly just picked up the ball from a tackle directed by Delph. I only rewatched to check i wasn't going mad and I was astonished to see how far from the play Delph had come from to make the challenge, anticipating the play perfectly and making up ground effortlessly and getting in a perfect tackle. His energy going forward is impressive and there seems to be plenty of end product. Only down side so far has been injuries but he has come back from them impressively and looks like he's been part of this squad all his life!

I was in the minority on here really wanting him and being upset when it looked like we lost him.
For once I knew this was gonna be a great buy for us. I don't pick me often :)
Tracking back is overrated.

Not sure why, but not surprised, he was the one sacrificed last night.
I was gutted when I thought he was staying at Villa, as after a quiet start, he'd really come on in a poor side. By next season, with fewer injuries and more time learning from the likes of Yaya, Dave etc I think he'll be a key part of the team and one of the best in England. Not that he'll get an England call up mind

I like him, i hate that hes always sacrificed first regardless of perfomance and performance of others.
His confidence must be on the ground at this rate.
derby day the scores were level,
then the goat was fed by neville,
silly boy should know for sure,
feed the goat and he will score!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Better when in midfield that out on the left.
Pelle seemed to mumble something about there being a plan to stretch them second half, based on previous experiences.against Everton. So Sterling and Navas started running straight for them wide. So did De Bruyne and Fern 1.
Seemed to work, presumably as Everton got knackered and Stones got crappier

We needed more width, kept running into a packed defence through the middle. Presumably Pellers wanted to keep his more creative players on

Were so many against the signing?
I was certainly in strong support of it, and also disappointed when it seemed we lost him, especially when the price was excellent for us.

It call it just seeming slightly odd that no one had linked him before and then it came out of the blue.
I recall being very in favor and calling him Poundshop Wilshire as he's every bit as good and 1/4 the price that smoking little prick would command. And several agreed with that point of view.
I don't believe there was any tidal wave of not wanting him signed. It just seemed odd after all villa did media wise to try and insist they wouldn't sell and he wouldn't leave. Etc
Anyway.
Cheers

He wasn't the first player I thought of when we were looking for a Midfielder & he wouldn't have been on my top 10 shortlist at the time but that's not down to his ability that was down to me not taking any notice of the lad when he was at Leeds & Villa.
Even in the limited time he was on the field against Madrid in pre season, 17 minutes I think it was, he showed why we got him.
He's not doing a bad job at all he's growing into his surroundings & will be a very good player for us.

The indifference was due to his early injury if I recall correctly - picking up a serious injury so soon after signing.

Not in my case. My indifference was caused by not really knowing who the fuck he was.

I was gutted we weren't in for him when he left Leeds. Was impressed with him against the chavs last season. He'll do well for us if he can stay fit.
Balotelli......that's a brilliant finish.

According to reports at the time we were in for him then.

I remember it well. Hughes tried to sign him and he chose Villa at the time.

I didn't disagree with Navas and width, but of the three midfielders he wasnt my first choice to come off (neither was Fernandinho)
