Wembley tix

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

Wembley tix

Postby KinkyKinkladze » Wed Jan 27, 2016 9:56 pm

Right, I know it's early but I'm just putting it out there.

I haven't been to Wembley since the play off final, and due to moving away from manc haven't been able to see city since Sven was in charge. So obviously I haven't got any loyalty points etc.

How do I go about getting 2 tickets for this? I don't mind paying over the odds as, well, it's city at Wembley.

My missus is a Thai Liverpool fan so I'd either drag her with me, or my rag supporting dad (who to be fair is always pleased for us when we win). But if only one ticket became available then they could both fuck off and I'll go alone.

What does a peasant like me need to do to go to Wembley?

Money is what you need. I paid £620 for two tickets for the 2014 Capital One cup. I bought them from the Hotel we staid on.

I won't go back to Wembley after the Wigan game. The whole day was just shit for me, not just the score line, and put me off going for the foreseeable. But my advice if you didn't get a ticket would be to just go down for the day, soak up the atmosphere, and watch it in a pub down there.

Jesus. I expected a good wedge but that price for a game against Sunderland? Can only imagine what a game against the scousers would cost. Cheers for the info!

I went to the derby back in 11/12 where Kompany scored the winner at COMS without a ticket and just went in Mary D's beforehand and ended up staying in there to watch the match and for hours afterwards. It was a top top atmosphere. I'd imagine going down to Wembers would be similar.

The brother in law (scouse fan) already been on asking can I get tickets.
I wouldn't have enough loyalty points.

Got tickets for the Wigan final through Wigan. It was a bit awkward with my young lad sitting in the Wigan end. Telling him to keep quiet.

You couldn't do that with Liverpool fans.

You could snatch one out of the hand of a fellow fan like the Liverpool scallies do.

Imagine actually doing that to one of your own. You'd want to be the lowest of the low.

I paid RIDICULOUS money for the first cup final v Stoke... but it was worth every single penny and in a hindsight I would've paid even more to witness the first trophy in my lifetime which I did not think I'd even see.

It's a tough one KinkyKinkladze and nobody else can really tell You what's the amount you should or should not pay.

To be fair, my dad's in his late 50s now and has never been to Wembley. I wouldn't begrudge my old fella that. He hates Liverpool and has a soft spot for us so he'd be a blue for the day. He's not arsed like that, apparently it was normal for him as a lad to watch both Manchester teams.

I think that was common from old timers I've spoken to over the years. Particularly in the 60s and early 70s. And not just in Manc but London as well. I've met west Ham fans who watched Spurs regularly. And others.

A kinder gentler time.

Cheers

My dad's in his late 50s and as a kid hated the rags and wouldn't have dreamed of watching them. Depends who you 'talk to'.

Apart from the dodgy markets it will be SC holders only surely? Give or take.

I went in 81 and, although I can't remember too much about the day except the goals and that I had been plonked on the Spurs terraces, I remember thinking once is enough for Wembley. Been there, done that.
