Is it just me? Or is he fast becoming the most frustrating player to wear the shirt? He's gone missing far too much this season and seems very half arsed at times, time to get rid?

No. He is possibly the most influential player we have ever had. It's time to support him.

He isn't in great form in a blue shirt but we could of sold him cheaply in the summer to Inter and he could of been one of their star attractions and be ruing that decision.

He will be a legend here, but today will not be on Sergios Xmas card list.

He looks done. Much like the fat granny shagger. Quick decline really.

Hes gone missing far tomany times this season. Over rated over paid and over played this term. Should have cashed in on him during the summer and got someone that doesnt only want to play in the limelight when eyes from around the world are on him. You win the league in the shity wet and cold nights against teams who are there to stop younplaying rather than take you on. Hes not up for this so he should go imo.

Time to get rid? Simple answer is no. Realistically what could we get as a transfer fee, £8-10m? Loose change for the club these days. He is a really important part of the squad and his influence in the Academy cannot be underestimated. Those lads who follow the EDS will have a better knowledge of this than I do and the likes of Twosips and Doug who seem to be quite well known in the Academy may be able to substantiate this. Just like the dippers in their rat infested Melwood shithole looked up to starfish and Carra for years and the young, dirty rags would have rimmed any of the class of '92, so our lads will look to the likes of Yaya and Kun and Kompany and Silva as heroes.

I don't doubt for a second he is not as influential on the field, especially against a younger, fitter midfield opposition, as he was a couple of years ago, but he still has a massive part to play. How much of a role he has is largely down to the management team and the form of the likes of Delph and the Ferns. What price another Wembley goal?

Yaya has been one of most influential players in time I have supported City but he was terrible today. Wasted possession , made wrong decisions on breaks when we were in great positions and constantly left gaps in the centre of midfield. He seems to be caught on his runs upfront a lot more than he did even last season and constant throwing his hands up in the air for free kicks when he gets caught in possession becomes annoying. This should be his last season for us but he has been a great player

He's not looking great at the moment, is he.

Yaya 'big nutz' Toure is a fucking legend who has been the driving force behind all of our trophies in ~ the last 30 years. He has a big point about the media ignoring him. African Player of the Year 4x IN A ROW.

As said above, his influence on teammates cannot be understated. One of the most universally regarded players on the world by fellow pros. Still a great player and has a few years in him. Not as quick as he once was, but offers way more than 95% of all other center mids in the league.

but what does he actually do?

Good post Notts. Pretty much what I would like to see. I think he is worth more staying with us if he is willing to start to take a back seat more on the field. We wouldn't get back the same in monetary value by selling him.
I don't know if he is totally into the concept of ending his career here in a mentoring role. But it would be great if a legend like him could be kept at the club. But, physically, he is rapidly losing effectiveness and should not be guaranteed his place.
As long as his influence off the field remains positive, I would keep him.
Start to rely more on our other players, on the park. Make them step up to the mark and take responsibility. Yaya was great, but I fear he is just not capable of reaching the heights consistently anymore.
