He was superb, as was your boy today.

Nice one. Big fan of Delph and I hope he can keep himself fit now.

You can't have two boys!

Stop being greedy.

Top drawer today. He got a good reception when he went off (about 70 mins). Seems to be a bit of a fans favourite.

Southampton had 54 per cent possession. 12 attempts 8 on target. Should have been a penalty and sending off in the first half so Southampton lucky there but they certainly had their moments.

I swear in some games he is padding his passing stats - he hits the ball back immediately to the person trying to pass it to him.

Surely you jest.

Im taking the piss mate,.,,,,the fuckign spastic who had a rant at my analysis of YAYA thinks YAYA is beyond criticism. Now most of us agree, hes gone into hiding.

Talking to you on matchday is pointless but I ain't go into hiding, just heating up thanksgiving leftovers.

Yaya wasn't amazing, but he did his job. Look back in the craziest thread on this forum "What does Yaya do?". The continuing theme is people judging him based on what they think he should do vs what the manager tells him to do. It pretty fucking obvious that nowadays his job is not a box-to-box midfielder, he's more of a deeper lying playmaker (similar to Pirlo). He controls the tempo of our possession and creates chances with his passing (which he did today). He has 2 players to mop up behind him anyways. If he wasn't doing his job each week, Peller's (and Mancini before) wouldn't play him every game.

Yaya is a leader in the dressing room and on the pitch. He wasn't amazing today, but not shit either (new concept for you, I know). but the criticism he gets even when we win is ridiculous on here especially when compared to other players on the field. Most of our team had an ok-good day, but no one is berating anyone else for not being world class every game.

You can't post like a fat miserable drunk whinging bastard at the bar every game and not expect anyone to tell you to shut your trap and roll yourself out the door

Genuine question, when was the last time Yaya lead by example?

It's always the same. Some people have a view on players that will be held up, even if it is many years later after that player has been part of a team that has won us many trophies.

Everybody wants to be right, maybe this is the time for some.

When we beat Norwich with a last minute penalty? I'm not saying he had a great game Mase, but I knew he would score. He is great in the big moments.

I agree with this, and then I look at two things - Silva is fit again, and the rest of the midfield were better than Yaya. So who should be dropped to bring Silva back in?

If he is playing in the Silva roll but Silva is back to his best, it's a no-brainer.

Exactly. I can't make a case for him in our best eleven, and it is rare for me to be down on any of our players.

However, the reason he isn't in our best 11 is because his legs are ageing, and such a big man. My best 11 over the last few years would definitely include Yaya, and history counts for a lot.

What I dislike is that he still seems to be a starter for every games, which says to me that when they've renegotiated his contract, they've still included the clause. There's no definite starter at our club anymore, it should be a non-starter.

I don't mean scored an important goal mate. I mean literally led by example like a Vieira or Keane and although he might not have had a fantastic match he kept everything ticking and you could see other players following him. That's what we've come to expect and it hasn't happened in a long time.

We were okay today, not spectacular but job done, didn't think yaya had his worst game.

But where did they get that cunt of a ref from, what a knobhead.

I think we seen the same on TV, we do seem to have a handicap situation in the Premier League.

Don't be thick on purpose. He's done it countless times over the years and almost always steps up when a trophy is on the line.

Recently, how about our best performance of the year vs Sevilla a few weeks ago? Or how about beating Chelsea earlier this year?
