You are correct. The amount of hype surrounding the game we love is unbelievable. This type of hyped shit just goes too far and causes damage to the credibility of the game.

The game needs stars though, and Pep is a star.

Never really wanted Pep as he hasn't had to prove himself in an up and coming club, or the lower depths for that matter. However, we are a different animal now and when he joins it will show just how far our club has come.

Was unsure of pep last time around when he joined bayern. Now I am really scared of him going anywhere but here. Feel quite certain he will chose us though:-)

Imagine if next season we have Pep vs Mourinho in the manchester derby... Man alive!

That will be insane, not just for us but for the whole PL brand.

I am a Pep fan, however the done Enrique has done at Barca is amazing , he had no pedigree as a manager did nothing at Roma or in Spain. Pep for me will either make us or if he joins Arsenal, break us and some at the club.

He won't join Arsenal, he's ambitious.

Would love him here but it wouldn't surprise me if he took another year off then ended up at ....Arsenal!

He will take us to the next level if he comes (fingers crossed).

I think that's a big part of what would make us attractive to him, we also had Vieira going out to Bayern presumably to pick his brains about his time in charge of Barcelona's academy so he knows we respect him and what he's done (not just with the first teams).

Here's the latest:

Pep to leave Bayern at the end of the season to coach Manchester City.

Source: ZDF Sport Deutschland

He is now 4/11 for City to be his next job and 4/7 to be next City manager.
That is incredibly short odds for the bookmakers to be wrong.

I'm amazed they're still taking bets.

Pellers -

“I am sure Pep Guardiola will work here some day. I even hope he will have the opportunity to work at Manchester City too, because I love this club and I care about its future, and I am sure he would do a good job. When is the future, I don’t know, but if the future turns out to be next year the most important thing for me to do is try to win the title again this season. To win two titles in three years would be quite an achievement, I think, and we were runners-up last season too. That was not our best season, I admit, but at least it was not a disaster.”

I can't believe that Pep would be allowed to announce tomorrow that he is set to join us. It would just be too disruptive. He may announce he s leaving Bayern but it can't be more the day before Arsenal. It's a bit like all that bollox talked just before we signed Kaka (and Mido).

Pep won't announce where he's going before the Club does. It is just possible that the Club will feel they need to say something after Pep says he's leaving Bayern simply because the speculation will be destabilising. Pellegrini seems resigned to his fate and is responding in a typically dignified way.

Mixed feelings on this. Pep seems to be inevitable, but man I'd hate pellers to manage against us and be forced out
