Jamie Vardy

Is he just on a really good run, or could he turn into a top striker with the right coaching?

He has pace to burn and puts in a real shift. Scoring in eight successive games is no mean feat either. There seems to be plenty on here who aren't impressed with Bony, would you swap Bony for Vardy in January? Plus he is English.

Or will he be another Harry Kane who had an outstanding season but has struggled to live up to it?

He's 28 at his prime, can only go downhill from this point onwards, imho wouldn't achieve the same level anywhere else

Flash in the pan.
There are better options.

We've already tried signing the league's top scorer and, well, let's say he's trying his best

Watched him when he first joined Fleetwood. Every time he has stepped up a level, he has delivered. Even when not scoring he terrifies defences. Definitely an option in January but it would be silly money. We would get 3 good seasons out of him.

makes you wonder how many other 'young' talents there are in the lower / non leagues that could flourish at a higher level?

There'd be heaps mate. It's a combination of luck, timing and the right agent to make it all happen.

Ricky Lambert springs to mind.

Someone who scores goals and has composure in front of goal in the lower leagues will also likely score goals in higher leagues. Yes, the standard of custodian is better the higher you go, but the goals are the same size and someone who knows where the goal is and doesn't panic and has a decent touch will still flourish. Ian Wright was a non league player until 21/22.

He's made for a team he's in, whenever he scores it seems to be running onto the ball going round defenders.

Bring him here he'd come on for 5 minutes, miscontrol the ball at his feet twice and everyone would be whinging.

This guy has all the hallmarks of a Charlie Adam signing. Great in a team that's focused around him and would suffer in any other system.

I think he deserves credit for being on s great run, and for the work he puts in. I think he only scored 5 last season so maybe he is just s flash in the pan like that Ricketts at Bolton was or like Sterlng.

Vardy is having the time of his life but at 29 this is probably his one season in the sun.
