really good from Atkinson today. even biased towards City in the first half if anything.

I'm not being contentious as this is a genuine question but would you like to clarify as to why you would think this ??.

I was actually sat in my seat thinking the same thing re bias, but I think I have become so used to being shafted that a fair refereeing performance is interpreted as bias in our favour. There was a period during the first half when the guy next to me commented on the fairness of it all but we were expecting it to be all a ruse so he could give a soft penalty. But he never did.

I thought the ref was very lenient to us in the first 30 mins in particular

Pleasantly surprised.

He was so lenient when he booked Jesus for absolutely nothing.

Thought the ref had a good game, he let it flow like a derby should. I'll be honest, first 20 minutes one or two tackles by us left me surprised when they weren't blown for, but if anything that set the tone that the ref was going to let things flow.

Imagine my surprise when all the media are saying Atkinson was awful and let us get away with everything. From the same mouths who said fuck all about the cluster fuck at Wembley.

Can't win really. I'm wary last night may have been something setup to allow everybody to slag us off for whinging about refs, if we'd managed to win, considering how lenient Atkinson was.

Truth be told though, that was the first time this year I've seen a ref let both teams go at it. Refreshing.

This !

Listen up, City's tackling was for the most part spot on . Very difficult to penalise. As well , the rag kept giving the ball away or found themselves running into dead ends.

He would have called it for the rags , if needed or possible .

I thought the ref's performance last night was a direct result of what happened on Sunday.

Me too.
And fair play to whoever called it that way beforehand. Don't have time to go back and find out who it was, but you know who you are.

I certainly didn't expect it.

as others have stated there were more than a few challenges on Rashford in the first half that could've been whistled in United's favor and few of Otamendi's leaps over the back that could've been called similarly.

I saw the refereeing as similar to the way the Barca v Juve game was Reffed and I commended that ref on here, also.
I think if we had officialdom like this every week you would soon stamp out the play acting and downright cheating that we see from players, week in week out.
It would help get the game back to the way most fans of football would like to see it.

That point hasn't escaped me and I have to admit I am expecting normal service to be resumed, starting with the early game tomorrow.
