"For a 19 year old to move to a club of such standing- it must be a dream come through"

He has a lot of pressure on him, but let's all back him up and let him become the player we hope he can become."

And the hits just keep on rolling...

Funny on RedCafe (can't resist reading the last few days) how they list the top PL transfers through today.

They list De Bruyne at £55m (it's £51m no add ons) Sterling at £49m, etc. but leave out Martial entirely, and if you list Sterling at £49m then Martial should be listed at £58m not £36m+ add ons.

Looks like LVG's "surprise" signing was Sideshow Bob 2 as a no.9 lol.

Even if the rags don't spend a penny over the £36m, they will likely have seriously overpaid. This is one of the most desperate transfers ever IMO. If three months ago you would have said the rags will not have the services of RVP, Nani, Hernandez, Janujaz, Falcao, di Maria and will only have Shrek and two 19 year olds, one of whom cost £36m you would have died laughing.

This has been the best window for years

This is to fucking funny. The only way the rags will get points now is through the refs or the opposition rolling over. They are just that shit.

As funny as it is it is really troubling me how certain media outlets are spinning this deal as a positive for Utd. To the point where sky presenters are suggesting to Thierry Henry to call this kid to give him advice. Impartial reporting right????

Don't worry about it, think Moysie, talked up till January. Remember when they were 'on the March and coming to get their title' that year? Results, my boy, results, then wait for the fun.

United have bought a turkey. All the spin in the world won't change that. And after two seasons when he's barely got 15 league goals and the rags are out of the top 4 they wil turn on LVG.

De Bruyne was £54.5m, 51 was an error in the MEN's original newsflash that was later corrected.

As for the add ons, the key difference is that Sterling is going to be a big success so the add ons will be paid ;)

Surely Chelsea missing out on Marquinhos to sign Djilobodji at the last minute surely has to be seen as a Sinclair/Hazard moment. Unless he proves me worng, seems like a last minute desperation grab

I don't comprehend how Merson can justify what he stated to back up his bullshit.

We signed the player with the top assists in Europe
We signed the best young player in Europe
We signed one of the most sought after defenders in Europe
We signed a current England international midfielder

Arse finished 3rd last season and signed a goalkeeper but they did better than we did in the window according to merse the clown

10 pundit, 10 views .. filling column inches.

No surprise I personally prefer David Conn's take in the Guardian

"City are the clear winners of the window of the heavyweight clubs. They boast the stellar transfer (Sterling), the bargain acquisition (Delph), the strength in depth buy (Otamendi), and the icing on the cake (De Bruyne) who should fit into an already flying team".

Good man

Maddening. Simply because we spent more money. Jealously.

Most commentaries I've seen say City had the best window.

Peers Morgan on TS this morning had a somewhat contradictory view to Merson about Arsenal's window.

To say the least!

Lads, it's the crackhead, what do we expect?

here's what he had to say when we signed Yaya

"The Ivorian is an average player who's rumoured to be on £200,000 a week! Does he score goals? No. Does he create them? No. Is he an OK holding midfield player? Yeah - but De Jong, Vieira and Barry do that job already!"

All he was short of asking was 'what does Yaya actually do?' ;)
