UEFA Champions League group stage draw pots 3&4 updated

So the Prem is under way & international games are scheduled for Sept & October, it's time to shift our focus to Moncao this Thursday for Champions League group stage draw..............

We finally make it out of pot 3 yet what's the betting we draw Bayern yet again or another miserable trip to Moscow in December (if they manage to overturn their 2-1 deficit to Sporting Lisbon)?

It would appear the cunty rags will also be in Pot2 with us and the Whinger boys, unless Brugge can do the unthinkable (they need to win by 3 clear goals in the return leg).

By the time the circus has died down, most of us will likely be commuting home tuned into 5 live in the car for the actual draw.......

So who do you fancy in the draw?

Pot1: Barcelona, Chelsea, Bayern München, Juventus, Benfica, Saint-Germain, Zenit and PSV Eindhoven

Pot 3: Olympique Lyonnais, Dynamo Kyiv, Olympiacos, Galatasaray, Roma, Shakhtar Donetsk, Sevilla, CSKA Moscow

Pot 4:
Borussia Mönchengladbach, Wolfsburg, Dinamo Zagreb, Maccabi Tel-Aviv, Gent, Malmö, Astana, BATE Borisov

Assuming we land KDB, we've strengthened pretty much in every dept over the summer and with certain other players having managed to find themselves again, I have to say i feel confident for the first time ever that we can actually be seen as serious competition this year, whereas in years gone by i have treated it as an unwanted distraction to our domestic campaign!

Who on here will be dusting down their passports having some jaunts into European City's with a few beers?

Who has binned off the extra home games out of principal, cost or having to work?

Will there be a shed load of empty seats in the home games and an atmosphere akin to the local morgue, or can we extend the recent atmosphere to make the ETIHAD a cauldran for visiting teams.

For once Ladies & Gents, i am looking forward to the Champions League!

Wouldn't be opposed to PSV as our pot 1.

Other than that, also take Bayern cause it's time.

What's the bets;
Juve .......... Pogba will stay.
Gala .......... Denayer (He wouldn't play against us.)
Wolfsburg ... KDB will stay.

That would be typical, but not as bad a group as we could end up with..

Hoping for Bayern and Vienna if they get through so I can see both the games.
Czech teams have let me down yet again.

I won't go to Barca or Munich again. And I had planned to skip an away trip in the group stages. But I could be persuaded by trips to PSG or PSV (or Bruges) with subsidised travel on P&O ferries or Eurostar.

just walk through the tunnel - apparently it's quite easy to do.

At some point you would think we'd draw an easier pot 1 team.

The good news is Arsenal can no longer be in pot 1 and the rule change is allowing PSV to be there, so this does increase our chances slightly, but yes, we would seem to have a worse chance than most of getting one of the easier clubs. However, Real Madrid, Atletico, Valencia, Arsenal, Porto, Leverkusen and Utd (assuming Valencia, Leverkusen & Utd get through) all have one club that cannot be drawn.

Basically, if Utd get through they, us and Arsenal all have the same chance of drawing:

Barca, Bayern, Juve, Benfica, PSG, Zenit, and PSV aka a 14% chance of drawing any of them.

So really a 28% chance we draw Barca or Bayern, but a 78% chance we don't. I wouldn't want PSG either.

What may be more key is who is the 3rd pot team in our group.

Reminder of who may be in pot 3:

Roma is the scariest opponent for obvious reasons, but Sevilla has been strong and Wolfsburg could also be there as well as Galatasaray.

Won't 2-0 be enough for Brugge on the away goal ?

I'm looking forward to the league cup draw more than this. It seems less painful. I will attend the home games and I'm hopeful we will get decent crowds, but the pricing needs to be right.

Since I haven't taken up the CLcup scheme this year we will sail through the group stages.

I think they'll keep their best away from us this season. We're proving ourselves and could beat the 17 they put out against us.

We've got the eye.

It's strange isn't it? We titter and knock the standard and yet English clubs are pretty much assured an uncomfortable evening in Glasgow.
