I've been a big critic of the atmosphere recently, but today was fantastic. Combination of the stand, 1st home game, and opposition I think, but long may it continue.

Just back from the game. Great atmosphere. Could even the hear the singing in the normally church like quietness of the Colin Bell stand. Keep it up south stand and roll on the north stand too!!

One of few players I take note of when he opens his trap. Met him and his missus walking my dog in Knutsford.. Made me feel very small haha

Why did he get his dick out??

What was going on with the Chelsea fans yesterday, they were garbage. I cant recall them singing one song. Really bad for a team that won the league last term.

Amazing atmosphere yesterday. Best I can remember in ages. I don't think too many people left early either.

Sore throat in work today and I was in the third tier of the East Stand!

I really think it helps having the away fans in a thin ribbon across three levels.
That said, they were making a fair bit of noise right at the start, then Kun going clean through in the first minute put the shits up them and they never recovered.

You're right about people not leaving. The usual droves changed to a mere trickle. Much better.

I think the last good atmosphere was Chelsea in the league that season when we came from behind to beat them 2-1. I think the new stand helped and the standard of the opposition. Their fans though we're a joke, champions, my arse.

Proper piss poor fans sis ;-) . Woke up with a sore throat and head this morning , yesterday was right up there !

Quote from Kompany "you could sense the extra 7,000 fans and I can't wait to extend the ground again".

There are still a few seats to go in at the bottom of the Colin Bell, but I doubt that's what he meant. Considering all the season tickets sold out, us the expansion of the family stand therefore going ahead, probably after the rugby world cup?

Some of you should get tested at the clinic because I know what caused all your "sore throats."

Singing, right. Right.

Cheers

P.S. Sounded and looked brilliant on the television. A lot of city ass licking on NBC sports yesterday. It was like a long all day handy. Felt good for a change.

Cheers again

It was brilliant when Sagna made that tackle on the half way and everyone round me was going nuts. It was like the players and the fans really came together. It must give them a lift when all the fans are acting mental on every tackle they make.

Agree. should have no voice after half an hour of every game though ;)

New stand does its job, fewer away fans staggered makes them seem penned in and the stand looks great.

Still think the south stand were quiet as usual first half considereing its 3 tiers of fans standing up without showsec on their back (and paying bloody less ;))

After the second goal went in the whole ground was decent; but we'll see what its like vs. Watford et al.....

I got to city Square at 2.15 yesterday and the queue to get into the bar area was bigger than I have ever seen. The extra 7k fans must have decided to get there early too. I decided to sack it and go and have a pint in the new stand. After the game I headed for a pint at city Square and the queue was even bigger. I think city are going to have a rethink about the bar areas if it's the same again for Watford.

Really?

No chance of them dropping the joke prices then.

Can't even remember what it was, but not been since it opened as thought it was a bit naff. Prefer one of the pubs before and after the game.
