Chaos Outside The Ground As 20k Tickets Not Activated

Chaos Outside The Ground As 20k Tickets Not Activated

Postby King Kev » Sun Aug 16, 2015 6:29 pm

I was one of the many people who's ticket was not activated for the game today. When my ticket failed to activate the turnstile I was told to go and get it activated by one of the 'Can I Help' team - unfortunately the network was down meaning that they could not check anybody's ticket on their PDAs.

This lead to a long wait to have my ticket checked before I had my season ticket taken off me (to be replaced) and I was then escorted into the ground.

I understand that sometime technology lets you down, but I can not understand why the club didn't have a contingency plan in place! I am sure a lot of people missed the start of the game because of this almighty cock up.

I only hope, but very much doubt, that the club will learn from this!

That explains the big queue I saw going the other way when I was queuing to get in, they would have been queuing to see the Stewards outside the East Stands. I hope you got in for KO

I got in in tome for Kick Off but not for a pre-match pint, which was disappointing.

I am sure there will have been a lot of people who didn't gain access in time for the start though.

I just hope my replacement season card comes in time for the Watford game!

Surely the fact that you got in shows that there was a contingency plan.

The staff outside the ground were quite open about the fact that they didn't know what would happen as kick off time approached.

I got in in time because I got there early. I had to wait 40 minutes to get my ticket checked. There were still a hell of a lot of fans stood in huge queues at 3:45 when I was going in.

Technology ain't the issue. I've been saying it for YEARS now that there are some real amateurs running our box office (and the bars inside the stadium). It's a real shambles

If there is anyone working for the club reading this post please send me a PM and I will gladly send you my CV and come and fix these issues.

My ticket didn't even arrive tho I bought them straight when they went on sale but thankfully I had the option to go and pick up a new tkt yesterday so I don't have to queue on a match day

I queued for 20 mins to get in and just caught the first ball being kicked, funny thing is at my other entrance on the north side (My actual entrance was a joke) the stewards were saying that only two entrances were working. So i casually asked the steward why not try it? Low and behold it was fucking working and nobody had even been arsed to check as they had been told it was down.
Those little fosters carts are great but fuck me the one near me needs a repair as more beer was coming out of the bottom of it than the pump.

I tried to get in at 3:40, ticket didn't work and started queuing to get it sorted. At 3:50 the staff outside said, "forget it, just go in".
They obviously never told the guys on the turnstiles, as they wouldn't let us in.
A very frank exchange of views then occurred, and we were in by 3:55.
This was in K for 109/110.
They didn't take our tickets off of us, so god knows if they've any idea which ones are working.
All will be revealed at the Watford game.

Not sure if you're being sarcastic, if so, brilliant.
That was all to do with the ticker tape.

chaos at the fucking bar also.

was lucky that my cards were fine after seeing the big que.

but half time was a fucking joke for service, even by block 110 bar standards. Beer/hotdog stand ran out before half time. Went up probably 10 minutes early, the que for the bar was right to the concrete wall of the block, about 30 mins wait and they run out of all beer (only cider).

Its a fucking joke for the money we pay and money the club have.

Sort it City and stop trying to phase out 'traditional football'

From what we were told, if your card didn't work on Sunday it won't work at all so needs to be replaced.
I would be inclined to contact the club for advice.
