For 58 sheets it had better be a seat:)

Come and say hello behind 119 at half time. We mill around by the exit gates. It would be good to see you.

52532 was the highest crowd I have been in for a home City game.

It's capacity dropped below 50K around 1990, so sometime in the late 80's at a guess.

Maine Road holds two attendance records, obviously ours against Stoke in 1934 but also the rags record attendance was also recorded at Maine Road during their rebuild after WW2.

The 52532 was in 1981.
6th round replay against Everton after a 2-2 draw at Goodison on the Saturday.

I believe it was in 1984 for the Milk Cup Final replay between the Merseyside scum. Somewhere circa 52000. I think the capacity must have been reduced after that as the promotion game v Charlton in 1985 had an official attendance of 47000. Suspect the actual attendance was higher.

This may well be the last 50000+ for a City game

Have they moved the away fans or will City fans be above them?

We've got tickets for Watford and, as an experienced 'seat planner watcher', it looks to me like that will sell out too with 2 full weeks still available.

More capacity always draws more supporters unless a team is doing absolutely shite. Dont know why but it always does!

Later that year was 52037 for the home derby, a 0-0 draw on October 9th. Nothing above 50k in the rest of the decade.
