I must say I'm surprised. Maybe Pep said no to next season. The players know where they stand now which is a positive.

IMO fantastic - a superb coach and manager and I'm delighted to have him at the helm.

Little bit of a surprise.
The rumor was he wanted to return to Chile @ end of this season, seems that was bollocks.
This will hush pep rumours for a while.

Let's hope he's learnt from his mistakes of last season

Good, might stop the players slacking half way through season.
i still expect him to more than likely go at end of season.

I'm happy about the timing of this even if his gone at the season . Sends a message to the haters to fuck off and let City go about the buisness.

Could be to give him authority this season. If Pep becomes available next season it doesn't rule out a change.

Hmmmmmm.
I reckon this was done to make the papers quiet and also make the players settle no doubt Pep is coming in at the end of the season this deal will be pellers pay off.

Agreed - the speculation throughout the season would have been a huge distraction, bit like cakegate last season - lessons seem to be learnt. Although no guarantees that Pep is coming, just a sensible move.

Agree with last two posts.
Smart move by club.
If Pep doesn't come then we have a very good manager staying. If Pep does come then Pellers can leave with dignity and a nice pay off, or some nice sinecure job - "Global Director of Football" or some such.

If anyone thinks the media won't spin this as a negative they're living in cloud cuckoo land. However, it's a great move by the club. Sends a positive message to the players, gives the manager a pat on the back and means our options are unchanged come the end of the season. Well done the club.

Great news. Without this Pellers was in an impossible position in every press conference throughout the season. I suspect that this is just good business whether a new manager if fixed up after next year or not.
From Pellers point of view he needs to just get his head clear and focus on what he wants and how he wants to play ansd get it more clearly instilled in the players and drop those who dont follow it and replace them with youngsters who will (and find a corner taker)

Sky sports news just said "pellegrini has already gone down in history as the man who led city to their first league title, in 1968
Doesn't sound right?

Of course it doesn't, football only started 23 years ago.

+1.
Not that this means anything. If our owners want to make a change before that (2017) you can bet your bottom dollar they will do so.
Meanwhile this possibly brings some stablility to the club and I have to say I'm not complaining.
