Why are you bothering ?

I think it "bothers" us all that we'd be better with 10 men and Kompany off the pitch than with him on it getting in the way and generally fucking things up like he's been doing in the main for quite some time.
The CB pairing has got to be any 2 from Mangala, Demichelis & Denayer - wouldn't even put Komps on the bench like he is (and I like the guy but want City to succeed and he's fucking that up).

Kompany might be finished at this level. He's been terrible for a while now, no argument from me, Carl. I think the bigger issue is the manager. This might well be a friendly, but it is still embarrassing. That should be unacceptable at City these days, we are way beyond those things. At least we should be.

KinkyKinkladze wrote:Just a note on Vinny. He was incredible with lescott. They worked because you had the animal style beast mode of Vinny and (Carl will love this) the calm measured approach from lescott. Where one would fail, the other would pick up the pieces. They worked very much like Rio and vidic did for the rags, and as horrible as it was, they were an incredible defensive pairing.

Since lescott has gone, vinny has looked good by and large with demi, but with bo mangles, he's been all over the place. And I reckon that's simply down to Vinny knowing mangala doesn't have "it" and is playing two defensive roles in his head. He doesn't appear to have the trust in him that he had in lescott.

I might be talking huge bundles of shit but that's how it looks to me. We need a more intelligent defender, not necessarily a beast but somebody who calmy reads the game, to compliment Vinny.

I haven't seen enough of denayer to know if it's him but I would be very tempted to make those two our centre back pairing for the season. I still think there's a top player in mangles, but I don't think he has the mentality for it. What I have seen of denayer, he looks years more mature than mangles has ever done.

Nah, the only reason Kompany looks better with Demichelis is that Demichelis covers for Kompany's mistakes better than Mangala does.
Check the stats and you'll see that our best CB pairing was Mangala & Demichelis last season . . add Kompany in and it was a disaster.

Best thing about this game is the stream i am watching has a warning window flashing up and covering some of our lousy fucking defending.

Even Sagna can't do basic things right.Joe through the ball out to him under no pressure, he fails to control it, passes it to a Stuttgart player and they go dangerously close .

I spent 20 mins trying to get Hola to work so I could watch it. Didn't work. Not arsed now. The team line-up reminds me of when I was desperate to score in FM with 5 mins to go. Not from the start, friendly or not.

Kinky puts his finger on it with Mangala. Not ability, mentality, what the fucking wonderful scouting systems are supposed to take into account. Vinny knackered. But atleast he got to see his baby born so that's good value for the 10 million a year we are paying him. Sums us up, an amateur outfit with too much money and no fucking steel.

Can people stop making excuses for Vinny. He's been absolute shit. If anyone's undermining confidence it's Vinny doing it to Mangala. As usual we're shocking off the ball so that's a big part of the problem too. Can we play Vietnam next week please? The worst of it is that if this goes on there'll be nothing but talk about Pellegrini going next season so everyone, including the players, will be waiting for Pep. Pellegrini really has to get his shit together fast.

More defending right there than the entire back 4 did in the first half.

it's like denayer and kompany have swtiched roles; denayer looks like the calm, experienced veteren and kompany like the lost 18 year old

also, navas is turning into the spanish lennon

The 2 plus points here are that Denayer is looking very good and Kompany's embarrassingly inept display today may convince Pellers to drop him before the season starts and save us some points.

Mangala has no peripherial vision. So important for Centre Backs
