Looks like I ain't missed too much then. Our great tactics of not covering the defence seems to be still working ........ For the oppo's attack!

Not sure Kompany will recover from this patch
Not like when Terry looked leggy and isolated and could be protected
Kompany is just playing as shit as Nastasic or Savic ever did

Kompany is a worry, but there is absolutely no midfield.

None.

he's way worse than them two right now. They would be beat 1v1 or lose the ball... but at the moment Vince is just completely AWOL, not even in the picture

Not an apologist but I'd like to see how Kompany plays a) with a midfield in front of him instead of just a kid on his own who clearly isn't ready, if indeed he is ever going to make it with us, and b) in a game that matters.

We go 4-0 down v West Brom and I will without doubt join you.
Your right leg I like; I've got nothing against your right leg. The trouble is neither have you.

Is that Evans in the middle? He looks totally lost.

Not really sure what we expect to learn from a midfield of navas, nasri, Evans, sterling and Spanish Dave. Other than it doesn't and would never fucking work against anybody except children and spastics, also child spastics.

Even before the third and fourth went in, i was worrying about the sight of Kompany after 24 mins, hands on knees gasping for air. I thought he started back in training weeks before the others ?

I'm a bit concerned but at the same time, the Stuttgart team and the German commentator are approaching this game as if it's the real thing and we're clearly saving our legs. Just want to throw that out there. Evans won't be playing in this role come monday 10 Aug.
"I used to be 6 foot 2 with curly hair, look what it's done to me"

"In my career so far it's the most important goal. You score the goal in the last minute to win the title. You're not sure if that's ever going to happen in your career again. I wish I could tell you how I did it but I can't. I thought for all the world that Mario was going to have a go himself but he just moved it on one more and it fell at my feet and I just thought: 'Hit the target, hit it as hard as you can and hit the target.' And it went in."

Just a note on Vinny. He was incredible with lescott. They worked because you had the animal style beast mode of Vinny and (Carl will love this) the calm measured approach from lescott. Where one would fail, the other would pick up the pieces. They worked very much like Rio and vidic did for the rags, and as horrible as it was, they were an incredible defensive pairing.

Since lescott has gone, vinny has looked good by and large with demi, but with bo mangles, he's been all over the place. And I reckon that's simply down to Vinny knowing mangala doesn't have "it" and is playing two defensive roles in his head. He doesn't appear to have the trust in him that he had in lescott.

I might be talking huge bundles of shit but that's how it looks to me. We need a more intelligent defender, not necessarily a beast but somebody who calmy reads the game, to compliment Vinny.

I haven't seen enough of denayer to know if it's him but I would be very tempted to make those two our centre back pairing for the season. I still think there's a top player in mangles, but I don't think he has the mentality for it. What I have seen of denayer, he looks years more mature than mangles has ever done.

It's difficult to analyse a performance like that. The defence have no cover from central midfield. My main worry is MP simply is not able to see it. We were being overrun early on but he did nothing to change it.
