Thanks for everything Big Ed - I can't argue against your contributions which were at times vital but I am delighted you got a good move and we sold you.

I will not miss those "touches" one little bit

I hope this isn't true

http://www.football-italia.net/70723/dz ... er-delayed?

Edin Dzeko passed his Roma medical, but can’t complete the transfer from Manchester City until someone else is sold.

The striker arrived on Thursday and was greeted at Fiumicino Airport by over 3,000 cheering fans.

He underwent a medical on Friday and to all intents and purposes is a Roma player.

However, Sky Sport Italia note the reason for delays in the paperwork is that the club already filled its quota of non-EU players.

In order to sign Bosnia international Dzeko, they must first sell one of their current non-EU figures.

The candidates to exit are Brazilian defender Marquinho and Paraguayan striker Tonny Sanabria.

I understood that Doumbia is going back to CSKA Moscow, so that might be the solution.

West Brom want Dumbia . New season ahhhhhh , what a long summer.

And this is my whole gripe with this EU/non-EU quota: It was intended to be national/non-national, until EU freedom of labour movement laws got in the way. Instead of scrapping the rule, UEFA just aligned it to thee whims of a political bloc, which is totally against UEFA's supposed ethics as an apolitical organisation. Now, Dzeko, from a UEFA member state, is being discriminated against where members of certain other UEFA member states wouldn't, be by UEFA's own rules.

Have we seen the money yet? We don't want a scenario where he injures himself and they pull out

Sanabria on his way on loan to Sporting Gijon according to Di Marzio. That frees up the space.

I'm sure even Italian clubs can add up these days and it's all in hand

Doumbia has moved back to Russia on a loan so it should get done soon now.

I wish I could tell you how I did it but I can't. I thought for all the world that Mario was going to have a go himself but he just moved it on one more and it fell at my feet and I just thought: 'Hit the target, hit it as hard as you can and hit the target.' And it went in."

I'm a bit worried about this coming season as now Dzeko has gone, I'm not sure who I can blame when things aren't going so well.

Also Kompany, Mangala, Nasri, Fernando, Sagna, Hart, Yaya, Pellers, and a few others... plenty of people to choose from this season for the reactionary brigade on here

From the murmurs around me at West Brom last night, 'come on Wilf' could very soon start turning into 'fucking hell Wilf'. Reference was already made by someone to tripping over his wage packet.

Thought Bony did quite well for a player who has had little preparation. Held the ball up well.

He did very well, he has some strength, it was funny to see defenders trying to get in front of him as he casually chested long balls down to a teammate.

He was blowing hard in the second half though.

Corriere dello Sport has pictures of Edin training with Roma. I really don't know why an announcement isn't being made.
